It all began one mysterious night. The Midnight Empress came to the small village amid the fanfare of her entourage. For some reason this serpentine queen of a foreign land had come to them. Not to conquer, strangely, but simply to live.
Of course, the Empress knew they wouldn't understand. Why leave her gold, her jewels, her palace? The answer was simple. Boredom.
The world was such a large , and wonderfully diverse place. She was tired of rotting away, dealing with the petty problems of others her whole life. They could very well SEND her missives about the problems, and she could advise by mail. She wanted to see the world. And by all the stars in the sky, and the fury f the gods, she was going to.
So away from her court, her throne and her people she went, appointing others to watch in her brief, but restful absence. Perhaps...she would explore. Find items to sell, or whatever the common people do with their time.
It was the dawn of a new day. And a new perspective. The Midnight Empress was in town.
