Report Paintie

Scraggle is infected with Lycanthropy. Changes into a beastly monster after exposure to moonlight or especially frustrating board games. Howling at the moon relieves the symptoms for a little while, but use a Golden Apple for best results.

Scraggle looks stunning!

Scraggle's very special treasures!

About

The 'officer class' is one of the core classes that a hive produces. (see Ydrus for more information on officers.)
Scraggle is from a riverland hive, with some adaptations for swimming and catching fish while being able to move on land.
They were supposed to become a spawner, but something failed in the process. This left them vaguely spawner-shaped (slightly worm-like with large jaws and pronounced tail) without having their egg-production activated. Scraggle could not remain in their previous hive as their rank would have blocked another officer from becoming a spawner.

An officer that is high-rank but not enough to be a leader has a chance of becoming a spawner unit. There is only one spawner per hive, and while they are technically second in command they've got fairly little influence on the day-to-day matters.
Spawners produce eggs via parthenogenesis. Tarspawn officers have a massive (inactive) genetic library that contains their hive's unit designs. On spawners this library is activated for egg production, allowing the resulting offspring to be far more diverse than normally possible.
The hive's leader can also influence the genes, modifying the hive to fit into its environment faster than natural selection would allow.

Each leader must learn by themselves how the genes work. The hive is at its most vulnerable when a new leader steps into power - unable to adjust to environmental changes and losing a portion of its viable eggs to experimentation.
In the worst cases a leader ruins the genetic library, leaving the hive with corrupted or missing unit schematics. Hives that survive this event tend to develop strange workarounds.
---
Scraggle has the unfortunate middleground of being almost-spawner. They are permanently swamped in the hormonal storm of 'puberty' while also receiving a lot of unwanted extra concern and care from their hivemates. (tarspawn consider the spawner bodytype to be 'adorable' as part of their instinct to protect them)

Not bound to a hatchery, Scraggle is often swimming around catching small animals to either eat or raise as pets. They find the well-meaning overprotective behaviour of the other tarspawn to be cloying and annoying, preferring to brood and angst about their life away from everyone.
Unfortunately you cannot smoke cigarettes underwater, so that avenue of rebellion is closed.
