Luna couldn’t take it anymore. She ran out of the cottage, and the fierce wind tried to snatch her up and up to the turmoil sky above her. She kept running, and running, into the dense forest, where the wind and tormenting rain only shook the trunks and bowed their small branches. That’s where she collapsed, still sobbing. Nobody wanted her. She was ugly, and horrible. She kept telling herself, she was so confused and sad that she didn’t notice something nearing her.
“What’s wrong, child.” A voice told her, harsh and rough but yet still soft as a feather. Without looking up, Luna choked out; “M-my parents h-hate m-me.” She let the tears fall from her face a bit more before she continued. “T-they think I-I’m U-ugly” she whispers. The voice said back; “Your not ugly, child. Your parents are wrong, you know.” It paused. “Come with me.”
Then Luna looked up. Round, yellow eyes met hers, framed with dark brown fur. Warm, big paws scooped her tiny, trembling body from the cold ground and cradled her. Luna paid no mind to where they were going, only that she was warm and with somebody that thought she wasn’t horrible.
What only seemed like moments later, Luna woke on a hillside, dawn sun rising. Laughter and happy voices sounded behind her. Then, one of the voices lost its laughter and made a soundproof or surprise. Luna looked behind her, hopping it was her friend. But no, it was a very surprised looking gem raptor and dragon. The dragon bounded forwards and tumbled to a stop next to Luna. “Sunsteam!” Yelled the dragon. “It’s only a kid!” The gem raptor, whom Luna assumes was Sunsteam, ran up to her dragon friend.
They were both very young, adventurous looking. “Glimmer? Is this what you saw?” It said, breathless. The dragon nodded. “What’s your name?” She asked Luna. “I-I’m Luna.” Luna said shyly.
