Villager: Lyra

As you step into Zinnia’s house, you see a Manokit child helping her with whatever she is baking. Bizarrely, there are several scorch marks in seemingly random places - and only one in the kitchen, though not near any appliances. Once what looks suspiciously like a Baked Furlaska goes into the oven, the girl turns around and comes up to you excitedly.

"Hi! Who are you?"

"I’m Lyra! It’s nice to meet you. Did you come here for mommy to make you a costume? Cause you gotta mail stuff like that, there’s a line and cutting is rude."

"You’re not? Okay, cool. Whatcha doin’ then, visiting? Cool."

"What we’re making? A Baked Furlaska! It’s this really yummy dish that Zinnia learned how to make where she used to live and now she’s teaching me! I love cooking stuff - I wanna open a restaurant when I’m older! Or a bakery, yeah, a bakery! When I can make all kinds of nice treats for everyone to enjoy and be happy with."

"I got to practice helping out mister Kieran with the harvest carnival; that was fun. Sora helped me a lot, since there was a lot of stuff we needed to make. But it was super duper fun, and I liked doing it! Especially baking the treats, like Strawberry Funnel Cakes and Haunted Cupcakes and even the Gelatin brain things!"

The young Manokit giggles excitedly at the memory.

"So yeah, I definitely wanna open a nice bakery when I'm an adult!"

"I can’t do it here though...not enough people, you know? Mommy and daddy said that they understand and that I should follow my dreams, but I...I don’t wanna leave them, you know? And Oceandome is so far away..."

"I mean, my best friend Caspian and I went farther when we stowed away on the Singing Tide...we got in so much trouble for that...it's still a little scary though."

"Yeah, I guess it’s not as far as Quetzal Palace. Mommy made that trip though! And Azalar went even farther, when he snuck on the boat as well. But mommy made the trip to come back to live with daddy. And if mommy can do it, so can I. It’ll be sad, but it’ll be good too. And they can always visit and eat my food! And I’ll be able to come home too. I like this plan."

"Oh, Chihaya? She was a present from mommy and daddy! She’s a Sunset Cloud Otter, they live in Quetzal Palace and swim in the sky! Isn’t she neat?"

"Aww, you have to go so soon? I mean, you’re just visiting too, so you’ll have to go back home in the end. Unless you decide to live here but I don’t think you’ll do that. That’s okay though. You got your own family to go back home to."

"See you later, then. Don’t forget to stop by Oceandome when I’m an adult so you can see my bakery!"
