Cubling is a short word for "Lion Cub+Hatchling". He's actually a Golden baby Griffin, one of the most rarest types of Griffins in the world. There are a very few numbers of them left and are in the endangered species list. Why are they endangered? Poachers and habitat destruction. Man wanted these creatures for their golden feathers and their senses of finding treasures such as gold, minerals, etc.
I named him Cubling because of the mix of words. My friend and I found him in a box all alone with a couple of dealers in the city. That was no place for a Griffin...and it was very dangerous to convince the guys to give him up.
When he grows up however, his name will be changed to LionEagle, in respect of the mythology.
He's usually a sweetheart to everyone, but can be very vicious and protective over loved ones when encountering an enemy
