Kablites are a species hailing from a number of fourth-dimensional rogue planets, some of which are tangent to third-dimensional areas closest to the Zaria system. Despite hailing from a universe with two time dimensions as opposed to the conventional one, Kablites are traditionally considered a part of the Fourth World. The anomalous nature of their home universe makes it impossible to determine the temporal origin of the Kablite species.
The species is noted for its predation habits, which are the broadest of any species. Among cultures with knowledge of Kablites, they are unanimously regarded as beings of death and destruction. These entities are known to be highly territorial and extremely hostile to any sentient beings that they detect.
Despite their worlds of residence being known, their origin is still unknown despite intense xenobiological study. It is theorized that Kablites are a physical manifestation of entropy, having evolved from conventional baryonic life into completely alien life-forms in order to survive in a far-future universe that has already undergone heat death. Consequently, they have adapted to fill a niche as deep-space hypercarnivores.
