The tired man asked the dying man, "What has brought you to this point? I am tired and starving, yet I am not yet dead. You are neither, and yet you will be dead before the next sun."
The dying man smiled and said simply, "What you do not see is that death is an old friend. I will go painlessly. You are in the same position as I, you just fear the inevitable."
Solstice is life and death, the inevitable and the lie. They are everything, yet somehow at the same time nothing. It is believed that they appear only at the darkest times. They have been sighted by alien creatures at the beginning of time, and the end by the same creatures. Humans have only seen them during the Winter and Summer Solstices, thus the name.
