Like many "sea monsters" - as the landwalkers harshly call them - Lotan would prefer to dive into the mysterious and dark depth of the ocean and weave among the underwater landscape. Though curious about landwalkers and their way of life, Lotan shows no interest in wishing to join them or really even meet them. He has heard many stories of "sea monsters" that had gone the surface and ended up hunted, leading him to have a distaste for the surface and no intention of swimming up to it.
