Villager: Trauma

Trauma was the first victim in the Doppelganger incident. But he was far from the last.

The Doppelganger Incident first began when scientists had been attempting contact with other worlds. One of those scientists was Trauma, or as he was known then, Finch. Finch and a few other select scientists on the team were able to successfully open a portal to an alien planet. What they didn't know was that this planet was home to creatures they later dubbed Doppelgangers. Their spawn were incredibly small, so small that Finch failed to notice one slip into his hazard suit.
It only took a few days before he started exhibiting strange symptoms. Constant hunger, loss of vision and his ability to speak, and eventually deformations on his body.
It wasn't much longer until he saw a perfect copy of himself walking away with his friends. But Finch couldn't speak, and everyone would run at the first sight of him. So he continued to lock himself away until he could find a cure for his symptoms.

Those who discovered Finch in this state gave him various names. Mutant, Patient Zero, and Trauma among others. He refuses to use or give his true name until he kills the doppelganger that took his place.

The creatures that took the shapes of their victims were later named Doppelgangers after their ability to perfectly replicate others.
