(Basically he is scared if he can't fly away someone will attack/eat him. Iris is actually really big for his kind, most of the Faerie amazon dragons are around the size of butterflies. Even pet cats would munch them if they got the chance D: )

"I wouldn't mind coming with you to watch, i just cannot get wet." (I would go blathering about why but i don't want to bug ya xD)

Iris politely dips his head "As much as i love forests i can't swim, so i will have to decline unfortunately.." He was afraid of falling into the water he could in fact swim, but the water would weigh his wings down, making him unable to fly for a while.
