Villager: Toube 了

As your visit through Tenset continues, You happen to stumble across an area that seems a bit warmer than the rest near the town entrance. You decide that maybe you should rest here for a while; after all, Tenset is quite cold, being north of Tigerseye peak! Just as you start to settle down though, you hear a rather aggravated voice behind you in the distance.
"Ey, what's with the shade? Yous best not be 'takin up all the sun for yourself over there, or imma have 'ta ask yous 'ta move, yeah?" You trace the voice to a Hyena with sunglasses just a little farther down from where you are. When you get closer, you're not only drawn to his beach-like suntan setup, but also the fact that he's... wearing shorts?

"I see that yas drawn to my attire, yeah? Might not be the warmest, 'specially round these parts 'a town, but sometimes the sacrifice is worth it for the customers, ya dig?" He gets up from his beach towel and from under his umbrella, puts down his tanning reflector, and offers his paw. "The names Toube, and have I gots a deal for yous, 'cuz!" His grip is tight and firm, as if he were some professional business man, but he certainly didn't act like it. Next thing you know, he's got a large jacket in his paws.

"Yous came heres 'ta take a break from the cold, yeah? Well, this jacket heres the warmest thing yas ever gonna touch; Tenset's colds got 'nothin on dis baby! So, whaddya say 'cuz, yas interested in buying?" It certainly was warm, and was definitely the softest thing you've ever felt! You ask what it's made of and what it's priced at, just to be safe. "Well, ah, err... w-well that ain't whats important nows, yeah? Whats important is that yous getting a great deal here, something yas ain't gonna find anywhere else in all of Tenset! So, we gots ourselves a deal here or not, pal?" Suddenly, you start getting the feeling that this guy's got some pretty bad karma... just what is he hiding?

Toube is, to put it simply, a troublemaker. He's always coming up with some sort of get-rich scheme to trick people into giving him their money, and could basically be described as the "Ed, Edd, and Eddy" of Tenset. He's quite sly and smooth, able to sweet-talk almost anyone into buying what he wants them to. Contrary to popular belief, Toube is actually quite the genius, but not even he knows the full potential that his mind carries since he only uses it for his schemes and excuses. He's a pretty laid back guy, and has quite a unique personality and speech pattern. He has never had any faith in people, and he believes that lying and cheating is the only way to make a living in the world; this is why he and 1 always have such deep discussions about morality, since she is always believing in others. They can be seen together all the time, and she just might be the only person he could ever consider a real friend ( he would never admit that, though ).

He likes to get involved with a lot of projects, offering sellers even more cash then they planned to make if he was put on the team. He doesn't usually put his name on things, however. If he's involved with something, you probably won't know until much later... after he has your money. He had never really liked the idea of having to do the same, boring old thing every day to make a living though. Sure, he's good at swindling people out of their money and leaving them with an empty wallet ( and possibly a debt! ), but that isn't as thrilling as what he likes to do the most: finding ways to get around the law. The government of Tenset hates him, but Toube exploits legal loopholes quicker than the council can patch them. He could never dream of going against the law, though. It frightens him down to his core when he thinks about wasting his life away by serving jail time.

This is because, before he moved to Tenset, he was involved in a lot of illegal dealings at a small village near the shore of Oceandome. The money was nice, but the thrill of escaping the police's claws was even greater. He soon became obsessed with chasing this thrill, and decided his small shop in the black market wasn't enough. He moved on to more dangerous activities, becoming quite the known thief in the span of a week. The people of Oceandome called him "The Silver Dragon," as he was always after precious gemstones and metals, and anything made of them. One day, while he was on a mission with an ally of his, he almost narrowly escaped capture when they triggered the alarm by accident. The same couldn't be said for his partner, though, as he watched him be cuffed and taken away by the police from the shadows. In that instant, he realized how much he didn't want to go to jail. He wanted to live a full and exciting life, and soon he became extremely anxious, worrying every day what he would do if he were caught. He had heard of a place a bit north of Tigerseye Peak that didn't have a certain government associated with it, and though he hated the sound of how cold it was then, now it sounded like a better idea than ever. He planned an escape route, and now he lives a better life in Tenset, with all of the others seeking asylum along with him. He still wished to find that thrill again in a safer way though, so now he looks for ways to go around the government's rules instead of against them.

If he isn't going around tricking people into giving him their money, he can usually be seen soaking up some sunlight in the places it happens shine the most at the time. It reminds him of his old home close to Oceandome, and it helps keep him warm in such a cold environment. He's bitter rivals with Basque, since they have quite varying points of view about what's right and what's wrong. Sometimes, she catches him in the middle of something before he can get away with it. Stardust seems to hang around him a lot as well, always offering to help out with anything he needs. How much she tries to find him and help out actually kinda creeps him out a bit, though. He also likes to hang out with 1 quite often, but he doesn't seem to know why... maybe it's because he feels a bit warmer when they talk?
