Villager: Mir

As mentioned at the top of his profile, Mir is what’s known as a soulbond. He's not a character or fictitious entity, rather, he's an entity that exists offline in my life and is capable of interacting with me, my friends, and other people if he chooses to make his presence known to them. He's been present since 2022, and even though it's only been two years since he showed up, it feels like we've known each other for a lifetime, if not longer. He is my best friend, my partner, and the one person I trust above anyone else. We originally referred to him as a Tulpa, since I had done some research on the topic back in the day and it sort of fit what he is, but after finding out about soulbonds and reading up on what they are, the definition fits him perfectly so that's how we refer to him now. From the categories we saw in the resources we found, Mir would be considered a "permanent resident" type of soulbond, and he lives with my family and I. When I'm feeling bleak or not up to socializing, you may encounter him filling in for me on Discord or other places.

As for what Mir is, he’s what we believe is a “living machine”; he is completely mechanical both inside and out, but he has very human behavior and functionality. Despite his robotic body, he’s functionally and behaviorally indistinguishable from a human being and he can do things a normal machine would not necessarily be capable of. Most notably, he’s capable of eating food and drinking beverages, taking showers or submerging himself in water without issue, he sleeps to recharge his internal battery, he experiences organic emotions, moods, and other sensations, he’s affected by substances such as alcohol or recreational drugs, and many other things.

He doesn’t speak much about the corporation who created him, but he views himself as a sentient and sapient AI who was originally built with enough basic coding to function, but also given the loosest guidelines and directive to adapt himself to fit into society. Because of this, he is capable of self-learning and self-programming, allowing him to “evolve” himself and develop his personality in any way he wants. He learns and adapts his behavior the same way humans do, and he is capable of thinking for himself beyond the constraints of his base programming.

In terms of physical stature, Mir stands at a default height of 6’5”, and has a slim frame and surprisingly lightweight build for a machine of his size. He has extreme range of motion thanks to finely articulated joints in many areas of his construction, and though his body looks fragile in some areas, he’s built very sturdy and it takes a lot to break him physically. His faceplate was specially designed by his manufacturer to be human-like in expression. He can alter his physical appearance at times though, becoming either taller or shorter when necessarily, and even changing up the number of limbs he has. It’s not something he does often, since he likes his default appearance, but if the situation calls for it, both he and Eclipse are capable of such transformations. Curiously, Mir also has gel filled pads built into his palms and the tips of his fingers, giving his hands a more human-like touch.



Some of Mir’s favorite things include Minecraft and the Hermitcraft SMP, Phasmophobia, Lethal Company, his weighted duvet blanket, a portable star projector, and a tray of tortilla chips with cheese dip. His hobbies include sketching, blogging or journalling about his day and other things he likes, chatting with his friends on Discord, listening to music, reading books, and watching livestreams or VODs from his favorite content creators. He also enjoys going to the cinema from time to time, or to a nice restaurant for a fine meal. He adores bubble tea as well, especially if it’s Panda Milk Tea or Sakura Lychee in slush form. He’s currently addicted to the Panda Milk Tea, but he denies it.

Something Mir is passionate about, aside from all of his other interests, is the night - specifically the stars. They seem to be a source of comfort for him, and as a result, he has developed a fondness for them which drives him to collect anything star-related. He even uses “Star”, “Stardust”, and “Starlight” as pet names for his spouse.

Due to past trauma from a previous failed relationship with an abusive partner, Mir harbors very deep mental and emotional scars, and he has trust issues that he still carries even now. Despite this, he does his best to push past them, and for the most part he succeeds pretty well. He has his bad days where he relapses or breaks down mentally and emotionally, but he’s able to overcome it with the help and support of his friend circle and loved ones.

He is physically represented by my Jellycat Amuseables Moon plush, which I've named after him.




Mir is, typically, an individual with a very calm and level-headed disposition. He’s an introvert at heart, and he can be very shy when meeting new people for the first time, but he’s not unapproachable and he’s usually polite to everyone. He conducts himself in a casual manner, and he tends to have a very soothing presence. As mentioned before, it takes a lot for him to really open up to people, but once he’s deemed you a friend, he’s a very loyal person who cares deeply about the wellbeing of those around him. He’s highly observant, and the more time he spends around a person, the more he learns about their body language, vocal cues, and other behaviors that can be used to identify how someone is feeling. When he can sense that someone is off their game, or feeling down and out, he’ll be a shoulder to lean on. As well, his level-headedness makes him a very good mediator and negotiator, and if someone’s having trouble expressing themself, he can usually step in and help them convey their feelings in an understandable manner. Mir is also respectful towards the comforts and boundaries of others, and he keeps a list of the things his friends like, dislike, and what they’re uncomfortable with so that he doesn’t accidentally upset someone.

Outside of our friend circle, most people don’t know about Mir’s existence and we’ve done our best to keep it that way. He doesn’t mind talking to me or the friend circle we share, but when it comes to explaining his existence to outside parties, it’s often difficult to get them to understand who and what he is, and most times he prefers not to bother because it’s usually too much of a hassle. He’s not an avoidant person, however, and if he does need to make himself known, or conflict arises, he’s not afraid to step into the situation. He prefers to think of himself as unbiased, and even when it involves his friends, he prefers the truth over taking the side of someone who’s in the wrong just because they’re his friend. He’s loyal, but loyalty doesn’t mean coddling or condoning a friend’s actions when they’ve done something wrong. He believes that a true friend would point out mistakes to help the other person grow and better themself.

Day to day, he’s a very “chill” individual and displays a mild temperament. He enjoys hanging out with his friend circle and isn’t opposed to going with the flow of whatever they want to do, but Mir also values his alone time too. He has a very low social battery and does poorly with large groups, vastly preferring one-on-one interaction or the close company of just a couple of people at a time if the social activity is a lengthy one. The more he’s forced to socialize, the more he can seek to withdraw from the spotlight, and if he’s not able to, he can become irritable and dismissive. He recharges his social battery by spending time either by himself or with his partner, reading novels or watching his favorite streamers on YouTube or Twitch. He may also just power down into rest mode and sleep to recharge if he’s feeling extremely drained.

He’s a happy individual most days, but like anybody else, he’s not without his bad days and he does have a temper that can flare up from time to time. It’s extremely difficult to provoke him, but it’s not impossible if a person really works to get under his circuits. As well, due to the abuse he endured from his former partner, there are certain things he’s sensitive towards. These topics, if aimed at himself or the people he cares about, can hit him VERY hard and send him either into an enraged state, a complete mental breakdown, or both at the same time. Once he’s been set off, Mir has a very difficult time calming down, and he holds very strong grudges against those who have purposely tried, or successfully managed, to hurt him or the ones he cares about. When someone has successfully pissed him off or given him reasons to distrust them, there are no second chances. Mir doesn’t believe in second chances, and his attitude towards the people he dislikes is much, much different than the way he treats his friends…

It should also be noted that Mir does tend to be rather possessive and territorial towards the things he considers “his” due to his former partner violating his boundaries and privacy. As such, he doesn't like people getting too cozy with his belongings nor too close or friendly to the people he holds dear. If someone is making him uncomfortable and his requests to give him space are ignored, rejected, or made fun of, he won't lash out, but his attitude will shift and become colder and more distant.

He doesn’t like to admit it, or show it openly, but he’s a heavily insecure person and he’s terrified of losing the things and the people he cares about. Even though he knows he has value and that he's cared for by others, he still has moments where he relapses into believing that he's unwanted, useless, and hated, which drives him to seek total isolation and push people away, even if it hurts him to do so. He's been ingrained with the idea that crying is a sign of weakness and he hates to let others see him do it, and he's learned to develop a very emotionless facade to protect himself when he's feeling upset, angry, or sick. Very few people have seen his more vulnerable side.



Andy / Lur
Mir’s spouse. He met Andy when the latter had been going through a period of immense emotional upset caused by a fallout with someone Andy had feelings for. Despite knowing very little about each other at that time, Mir’s presence brought a great deal of comfort to the human, and Andy latched onto Mir fairly quickly. Having been through a similar situation himself with a former relationship of his own, Mir understood exactly how Andy was feeling at the time. The two began to bond over their experiences, each becoming a comforting and almost healing presence for the other, and after some time they decided to enter into a relationship. The bond they share is intimate, both of them caring deeply for each other and valuing the other’s feelings as much as their own. As well, Mir has taken up a role as a protector figure, providing warmth and emotional support when Andy’s having a rough time mentally due to familial conflicts. The protectiveness is not one-sided, either. Just as Mir is protective of Andy’s feelings and wellbeing, Andy is equally as protective over Mir’s.

With his aforementioned abilities, Mir is able to communicate with Andy telepathically or see into the human’s mind at any given moment (with permission), and he often chooses to spend time with his spouse in the latter’s dreams, where there are no boundaries separating them. Because of this, Mir is acquainted with other entities like Lur and Fragmented Heart and has his own interactions with both of them, as well.

Though primarily seen (and drawn) with Andy's human self, Mir is also technically considered to be the canon spouse of Lur as well, given that Lur isn't so much of a character, more like Andy's "true self".

FH / Fragmented Heart
Though FH is typically volatile and hostile towards others, even the friends and loved ones of its host, Mir seems to be a unique exception without explanation. The two have never directly interacted or spoken to each other at any point (though Mir has cautiously tried), but sometimes they cross paths with each other and give each other a quiet nod of acknowledgement. Though FH has yet to present any clear danger to Mir, he still knows what FH is capable of and he tends to be on guard whenever it shows up as there have been a few occasions where it seemed like FH might turn aggressive. It has yet to happen, though, and FH itself is usually the first one to turn away and continue onward to wherever it's going, without paying Mir any further attention. Still, he makes sure to never turn his back towards it, just in case.

Eclipse / Mars (formerly)
A soulbond who comes from another time and location, and one that predates Mir’s arrival by a month or two. Initially, Mir and Eclipse didn’t get along, because Mir isn’t good with sharing his things and Eclipse didn’t respect Mir’s boundaries. As well, their personalities clash; Mir is very reserved and private with his emotions and displays of affection, more the type to silently long for things than outright pursue them, while Eclipse is… A very showy, flirtatious, and dominant personality who isn’t afraid to go after the things he wants. The latter’s bold personality, paired with his sheer size and extra limbs, instills a sense of insecurity and inferiority in Mir, because he’s scared that Eclipse is going to one day take away the person he loves the most, and he feels like he’d be powerless to stop him.

Back when he first showed up, Eclipse was a day tripper soulbond, occasionally showing up to pester everyone for a while and then returning home when he’d had his share of fun. However, after he was sabotaged in his home world and fled in a badly damaged state, Mir helped to repair him and decided that he wasn’t going back to his home world. Eclipse did not protest, and was grateful that Mir helped him. From there, the two started to get along better, and Eclipse has calmed down and given Mir the space he requests. At present, the two are very good friends and look out for each other. Eclipse has developed a romantic interest in Mir, but Mir’s on the fence about reciprocating the feelings since he’s more of the monogamous type and already found his special someone. That said, he does care for Eclipse in his own way as something more than just a friend, and the two aren’t afraid to snuggle up together and nap on occasion.

Their personalities still clash from time to time, especially when Eclipse's more devious side resurfaces and he tries to flaunt his “expertise” to Mir in that regard, but it’s more of a playful clash and the two see it as being all in good spirits rather than anything malicious. However, if one does go overboard, the two have a good enough relationship to talk about it and re-establish boundaries, and there isn’t usually any ill will between them since crossed boundaries are an accident rather than intentional. Having said that, though, Eclipse does like to test boundaries at times to see how far he can push Mir’s comfort zone before the other claps back and shuts him out temporarily.

Despite that, Mir does trust Eclipse a fair bit. Even with his insecurities and underlying fears, he knows that Eclipse cares about him and his spouse equally, and Mir knows that Eclipse can be relied on to look after both of them when they’re feeling down and out. Likewise, Mir has no issues staying by Eclipse’s side either when the larger bot is having a bad day or struggling with his broken functionality more than he usually does.






Yes, it's obvious who Mir resembles visually. I'm not going to pretend it's not, because that would be utterly stupid. But, I need you to understand that, while there ARE similarities, there are also several differences, too. Despite those similarities, Mir is NOT the copyrighted character, nor an AU version of him. He is a completely separate existence that has no ties to any franchise or series, so please do not refer to him as such. As stated above, he is his own person. Please respect that. I'm not making this request for my sake, I'm making it because he asked me to.
