"Magic," Jacob said. "A witch made me like this."

"It's a really strict routine of brushing and washing, though beauty always comes at a price, right?" The lion questioned, seemingly rhetorical, before speaking again, "Just kidding. I use nice shampoo."

Jacob pulls one paw out of his pocket and waves, but otherwise doesn't react.

"You're annoying. You're childish beyond likability, at least for me."

Putting his hands in his pockets, he shook his head. "Nope. Don't like you."

"Not with people I'm not really fond of, no."

"Not really, no. Why do you ask?"

Jacob glances away. "Yeah."
