Hans has never been a wealthy or well-known man. He was little more than a peasant, but he never stooped to stealing or begging, relying upon hard work and perseverance above all else. Plenty capable of smithing a little bit and fixing simple things, he managed to get by well enough. However, when strange beasts began overrunning Hans' hometown, he wasted no time in acting. While others cowered in fear and the town's leadership seemed to let it happen, Hans did all he could to become a leader, and help his people fight back. The countless battles have taken a toll on the young man, though, as he slowly has begun looking more and more like the monsters he slays.

Fire blinked, fear filling her eyes at the huge beast towering over her.
"H-hello...?"
She hugged her tail, stepping back. Her sharp toe claws stuck up out of instinct.
Illythana looked up at Hans, and tilted her head at his comments. "... it simply means I care for my attire's appearance, sir."
Regardless, she took his hand and nodded. "Illythana, at your service."
