Villager: Anubis

Relationship Status: In a polyamorous relationship with Centaurea, Kunami, and Ammet, and a platonic relationship with Dubz and Petalove.

A rather grumpy jackal/saggitari hybrid (a saggijackal if you will) with a missing hind leg. Hailing from Olde Foxbury, Anubis made the move to southern Dragonsmaw Manor after a work-related incident claimed his hind foot, and he no longer felt welcome in his hometown. After always being stared at and teased for being different, the injury was the last straw. So he packed his bags and set off down south, where he knew no one would come looking for him.

Dragonsmaw Manor provided the acceptance Anubis was looking for, and he found that he quite enjoyed traveling. The dangerous woods of Dragonsmaw Manor awakened an adventurous side of Anubis that he hadn't realized was there, so he pressed on southward where the more dangerous monsters lie. Eventually, he stumbled upon Silverflecked Village, and decided to rest there for a while. But a tiny visit soon became a new home to Anubis, as he found himself acquainted with the denizens of the unusual village. Most notable, Tropicana the mysterious green creature that resided in the woods, and Centaurea the winged deer who very rarely showed her face around the village unless absolutely necessary.

No one could have thought that someone as grumpy as Anubis would have been able to earn Centaurea's trust, but the two soon discovered that they enjoyed hanging out together. Centaurea showed Anubis sympathy, apologizing for his lost leg and admitting that she knew what it was like to not feel at home in the place you had lived all your life. Anubis was surprisingly kind and soft, horrified and angered at Centaurea's disturbing backstory, while also not hesitating to comfort her if she wanted to be comforted. While not a fighter, he became aggressive to those who were less that kind to Centaurea, and despite her wariness the two started to be seen around the village together.

As time passed, Centaurea and Anubis fell in love. But, even with their union tied, the relationship was somehow incomplete. The two realized that they had feelings for others as well. Kunami, the sweet librarian Angel Dragon who would help out the couple no questions asked, and had gone on quite a few brunches with them. Ammet, the adorable and quirky Gem Raptor who's endless passion for spell-casting was rivaled only by his friendship with Anubis and Centaurea. Dubz, who, despite her scary demeanor, had been hanging out with Centaurea for quite some time, and realized her own romantic affection for the deer. And Petalove, who Anubis felt no romantic attraction for, but rather a platonic friendship as he knew that Petalove had also gone through trauma, and felt safest around Anubis and Centaurea.

Slowly but surely, the family grew. Kunami and Ammet were first, absolutely ecstatic to be in a loving relationship with multiple partners, doting on each other whenever possible and even procuring matching rings for all of them. Dubz felt no romantic attraction to Anubis, but the two engaged in a playfully competitive relationship, each striving to prove their strength. Petalove was aromantic and asexual and only married Centaurea as the two were closest, but soon become good friends with everyone else in the relationship. It was extremely unorthodox, Anubis knew that, but he didn't care. Together, they were all happy.

Anubis is sort of a solitary creature, usually only seen with a partner or partners of the polyamorous relationship he is in. He is seldom seen with any others, though is often seen alone. He's quiet and more than a little grumpy, but is soft once he opens up. A few of his hobbies include extensive reading into history, baking (with the task of having everything he makes be as beautiful as possible), and exploring. Back at Olde Foxbury, Anubis used to work as an excavator with the hopes of making advancements in archeology, but after a collapsed cave took his leg he prefers to study history in literature exclusively.

As for dislikes, Anubis is usually untrusting of anyone else other than his partners, Tropicana, and Rain. Caves hold no interest to him unless they are filled with something bioluminescent to light the way. He holds a certain annoyance to those who hail from Olde Foxbury, for the saggijackal can hold quite a grudge. He refuses to let the ostracism he faced from his past go, and can get quite aggressive towards anyone who so much as looks as him the wrong way. Anubis can also be quite impulsive, doing things without thinking about them first, and there once was an occasion where Centaurea and Ammet had to hold him back from picking a fight with a much stronger villager, a visitor who had taunted Centaurea for her flower-studded horns. Dubz, the strongest of the group, was the one who resolved the conflict by making sure the visitor was never seen around the village again, but Anubis still regrets that it wasn't he who could have stood up for his beloved.
