The room is only a tribute to its former glory. Statuettes of deer litter the dust-covered shelves and dressertops, along with long-forgotten books that were never finished. The bed's sheets and blankets have gone unused for many years, but, despite the room's condition, have been maintained constantly; they're the only part of the room that look fresh. The paint on the walls has faded from a gorgeous Utah sky cerulean to .a solemn color, more grey than blue, reminiscent of rainclouds, and cobwebs dangle from the corners. It's a sad sight.
You walk over to the bedside table, and pick up a small music box. It's a wonderful shade of Dutch blue. You blow off the dust, and wind it up. The lid opens, revealing a veiled bride- with blue hair and dragon claws- and a groom dancing. The melody is sweet- it's Waltz No. 2, by Dmitri Shostakovich- but it makes your heart ache with a feeling of sadness and impending doom.
You look around the room one last time, wondering who occupied this room and what happened to them, then open the window. The melody still pervades the room as you climb out.
