Story Time!
Shadow(song) was out just past the borders of the town trying to find a critter for taming. She had been tracking one for some distance and finally had it where she needed for an attempt to bring it back, however she was so focused on the critter she hadn't heard a monster sneak up behind her. The monster lashed out at her smashing her hard in the back! She cried out in pain and fell, she began crying for help realizing this could easily be her end.
Thankfully, Caine was nearby exploring and heard her cries for help, he and his trusty raven pet rushed to her aid. He wasn't much of a warrior at this point and only had a wooden hammer and scythe but he did know how to use them. He quickly cracked the beast in the head with his hammer, the beast let out a loud roar and turned to face Caine but it was too late. Caine was already in motion and another hard CRACK right into the beasts head. The beast growled as stumbled to get closer to its attacker. By this time Caine had pulled out his scythe and with one quick slash the beast fell in two .
Caine then rushed to the wounded Raven's side, he saw she was in pretty bad shape and called to his own pet raven to fly ahead and alert Hazel he would be there shortly. He scooped up Shadow and carefully carried her to Hazel's place.
Shadow was in such a daze she wasn't sure what all was going on, she did notice the small raven, Caine's pet, pecking at the door and could make out Caine's voice but she couldn't make out the words.
She felt her body being placed on a soft surface, she felt smaller paws touching her, she heard softer words being spoken but she ended up passing out before she could put any of it together.
Hazel looked over the Raven, she noticed the scratches and bruises but was a little taken aback when she saw the nasty gash on the Raven's back. She motioned for Caine to go to a cabinet and, tossing him the keys, she said "grab me some antiseptic, gauze, cotton swabs, and that kit right there." her manner was very calm and though she was clearly rushed she didn't seem like she was. Caine grabbed everything she had requested and Hazel quickly went to work, her gloved paws worked so quickly and efficiently Caine had trouble keeping up with her soft demands of "Gauze" and "Needle" she managed to stitch up most of the Ravens wound however the top had been to badly damaged and there was no skin to pull it closed properly. so she instead gently packed the sterilized gauze into it and wrapped the Raven's wound carefully.
A few hours passed and Shadow finally awoke, she cringed a little from the pain she still felt but slowly she was able to focus on her surroundings. Hazel's sweet face was the first thing she saw. "He..hello?" Shadow spoke softly "did... did you mend my wounds?" she asked as her eyes had fallen to the bandage wrapping her body.
Hazel nodded softly "you'll be fine, but try not to move too quickly" she said as she moved to help Shadow off the bed.
Shadow thanked her as she gently slid off the bed, and again for bandaging and stitching her up. "The... the man that saved me, is he okay?" she asked as she scanned the room. Hazel nodded and replied "he had to step out, but you're free to stay here as long as you need, Charlie just finished building this house for me so it's in need of someone to stay in." she winked and made her way out.
Shadow looked around and noticed a small stack of paper, it was care for her wound and suggested to have a friend help her around until she was able to get along, on her own, there was also a key left beside them which she assumed was to this lovely little house.
She took it and carefully tucked it away in her feathers, she then headed outside and noticed a small raven waiting for her. The small raven cawed and looked her over carefully. Shadow offered it a smile and it seemed to accept that and flew off.
Not longer after Caine showed up, he spotted Shadow sitting on a small bench just outside the home. "I see Hazel has already gotten you set up with her new house."
Shadow looked up and nodded "Um... yes, she said I could stay as long as I liked...you were the one who saved me right?"
Caine nodded "Next time, be more careful... even I don't usually travel that far out."
Shadow nodded, she knew she had gone much farther than she should have and she was very lucky this time. "Thank you... for saving me.."
Caine nodded and turned ready to go back to his main job as a crafter, he paused though and looked back over his shoulder. "You know she gave you that house eh? So keep safe from now on." He said and walked away with his pet raven flying after him.

A short time later Shadow had become good friends with many of the small town Kitara had built up and with the help of River Song her dream of becoming a cat was made real!
