About

Hello allow me to break into meta real quick and traverse the fourth wall, I am Candlewick and I welcome you to the Repository of Interesting Places as Maintained by Polymathema. Feel free to make your home in any of these or include any of these places in your own stories if you want!

Sliding back into a non-meta role now, sorry for that.

"Hi! I'm a Tour Guide and I'm here to tell you about various places I offer trips to. Please if you have any questions feel free to ask me for clarification!"

Before you are a variety of post boards, each decorated to portray a different village in Furvilla, with further subdivisions under them.

As the Repository is located in Oceandome it only makes sense that the first village would be Oceandome. As such the list of places seems much more fleshed out here as well, it seems Candlewick does most of his location scouting close to home.

Nouveau Atlantis

A collection of boats, rubbish, and wind turbines that serves as home to an even larger collection of misfits, outcasts, pirates, and scavengers. Floating in the sometimes turbulent ocean above Oceandome it is a far stretching lashed together hovel of sea debris and ingenuity governed by the stubborn squirrel Mayor Meredyyd Lakesong it is certainly the place to go if you're looking for a rowdy time or somewhere to fence your ill-gotten gains!

Sunstone Sewing and Moonstar Healing

Two shops that share a connected storefront decorated in a moon/sun celestial theme. The store on the right is a tailoring shop, brightly lit and filled with pleasing colours and beautiful design work run by the petite Elektiel while the store on the left is dimly lit and covered with light-blocking curtains and scented with pleasing incense with inviting floor pillows and a singular attendant, the delicate Lunesta. Both shops are welcoming in their own way and rumors tell of a dusk-time tea held in the garden courtyard behind the shops that is simply to die for (but not literally.)

The Garden

A seemingly endless stretch of kelp enclosed botanical gardens, filled with coral mazes, dim crystal lanterns, and a darkened shack with rust (or blood) staining the old boards. Tended by the truly enchanting Faustian Clove you are sure to find whatever herb or seed you need from him, provided you're up for an adventure.

The Boarding House on Euclid Lane

Otherwise known as Ellie's Boarding House by her tenants and friends. Run by said squirrel with the help of her little brother, Ellie's Boarding house is an island of warmth and hospitality in Edgetown. With meals twice a day and a communal garden and stable for the boarders to use, it is a place for needy villagers to get back on level ground and heal after troubling times.

The Witch House

There are many witch houses, especially here in Dragonsmaw Manor, but this one is well tended and kept in some comparison. Many cloaked figures can be seen coming and going at all times of the day and it's ancient Victorian decor and intricate molding are still in working condition if not in need of a fresh coat of paint. A gazebo can be seen over the high wrought-iron gate separating the estate from the other old buildings on Miskatonic Avenue. On Saturdays the gates are held open and some stalls are set up in the front yard where what one can only assume are cultists encourage visitors to buy their varied wares. From small animals and herbs to handmade jewelry and imported clothing.

Opal Industries

A weapon research and manufacturing company headed by the youthful Ilmarinen Opal also focuses on robotics and personal companion technology in concert with Kiehl Robotics.

Looking Glass Detective Agency

"Arcane Soloutions to Eldritch Problems." Your stereotypical noir detective agency but with 100% more magic and QP's bright sunshine. Headed by the dry humored Finn you can bet they'll find your missing Kritty or whoever has been eating your Flying Daisies. They charge extra if the case leads them to Dragonmaw though.

130-galaxy-pattern-book.png
Aether City

A floating city held up by ancient arcane wards of the size of a very small township. It floats somewhere above and to the north of Quetzal Palace and is almost entirely populated by magi.

The Bloodied Quill and the High Dark

Once two separate entities these former guilds of assassins have turned over a new leaf and now do varied works in support of Olde Foxbury. With far flung leadership ranging from a Cartographer's Shop in Oceandome to a Bookstore in Quetzal Palace they also work as a spy group, making sure other villagers don't top them in competition. Visit their guild hall in Olde Foxbury to learn about their long and honored lineage of one upmanship in the art of taking lives and order off the mixed drink menu in the tavern connected, try and guess which ones DON'T have poison!

266-frozen-ribcage.png
The Howling

A bar on the very edge of Tigereye Peak, carved precariously into a cliff-face. Only serves those with wings or climbing gear willing to brave the heavy winds and blitz blizzards or those with the skill to teleport in. Renowned for having a hanging graveyard, the warmest rooms, and maybe a black market in back but you didn't hear that here.

242-spellbook-page.png
The Tower

An academy and living space for mages and witchlettes under the tutelage of The Quartermaster and his staff. With entrances in each of the primary villages and places inbetween the Tower does not exist in just one place and can be summoned over a location or exist in flux. Selling the products of the students there are small shopfronts in Aether City and Nouveau Atlantis manned by recent graduates of the academy.

1428-snow-festival-star-fairy.png
The Radio Station

It travels around, and we don't mean it's mobile. It just pops up in a place overnight like a weird traveling carnival but instead of barkers and fair rides it's just a lone tower sticking up out of the woods or abandoned lots, a small control station attached.

128-stardust.png
The Void

A place that exists only to be an absence, to complete a balance, to fulfill a chain. Governed by the "mouse" Livyatan if such a word can even be used to explain the relation between the furre and his domain. One finds themselves there when least expecting, one leaves just as quickly. Acts as a liminal space, no one is meant to stay there, just a place to pass through.
1286-mahogany-bed.png
The Dreamlands

Accessible by climbing the 10,000 steps of Nodens, the Dreamlands are the place you go to sometimes when you sleep. Hard to get into, terribly easy to leave, the Dreamlands are home to bustling port cities, trade routes, and are looked after by the Priesthood of Nod - Comprised mostly of felines (I mean they're called cat naps after all.)

Comments 2

    • But such a fine job doing it.

    • Luv the detail. and imagination you've put into the expansion/additions to the established villages.
