Villager: Abuskhau

A son of Rameses II, Abuskhau was thrust into military life at an early age. His father made the decision, concerned that his son with his frenetic connection to Anubis would go the same way as Akenhaten if he ever reached the role of Pharaoh, abolishing the Pantheon in favour of his preferred God. As such, Abuskhau grew up in the barracks of the Pharaoh's great army, aware of his status but resigned to the life of a soldier.

Years passed, battles were fought and won, souls were delivered to the afterworld in Anubis' name by his own two hands. Through his devotion, Anubis recognised the man and granted him a blessing... Although others might consider it a curse. When faced with extreme emotion, the soldier found himself going through a transformation - he became a jackal-like beast, imbued with extraordinary strength and a wild rage. This leant into his favour on the battlefield, although his fellow battalion members grew to be wary of him.

After all, when in a frenzy, anyone in front of him became a target.


Eventually, news of the Pharaoh falling into ill healthy reached the troops and Abuskhau decided to return home with ideas of finally taking his place on the throne of Egypt. Only to find that the seat had already been taken by his younger brother, Ammon, another Boy King left to rule their lands. Still, he announced himself - and was taken in immediately as the young Pharaoh's guard. A suitable position for Abuskhau to form a take-over plot from.

However... Where he had been expecting exile, he was met with acceptance. Kindness rather than resentment. Ammon, grateful to have back the older brother he barely remembered from childhood, was grateful for his advice and enlisted him as an unofficial vizier. Working together, becoming closer, Abuskhau left his ambition for rule behind, finding contentment in advising and protecting his brother instead.


Now he guards Ammon and also conducts duties as a priest of Anubis, a title and honour that the Boy Pharaoh was glad to let him have. His new goal in life is to erect a temple for his chosen deity - and while it may not be completed in his lifetime, rumour around the palace is that plans are being drafted up.
