About
Doctor Barrow, frequently just refereed to by his last name, is what his parents generally refer to as a disappointment. His mother wanted a girl. His father wanted him to be a politician, like his grandfather and name sake. Neither wanted him to be an only child and both wanted him to get married and have twenty kittens.
After school he packed up his medical texts and his closet and moved out for his sanity. Most of the town is somewhat confused as to why he bothers being in the closet anymore since his is kinda made of glass.
His first language is sarcasm, followed by medical lingo. English is a distant third. While he's fonder of other furries than he'll let on, he's not very good at socializing, which can be something of a turn off.
Likes: His work, cocoa, swing jazz.
Dislikes: His given name, whiny patients, family reunions.

I take one day off to go to a medical conference and come back to find everyone sick. I'm surprised Dustin isn't still whining about it, although Galatea's been the hardest hit. It's the world's greatest irony that a snake should be plagued with horse rider bruise. Needless to say, I've been running myself ragged trying to keep stocks up.
I almost miss having Juri on my couch. Almost.
I never want to see another bandage again. It's been days since I sent Kairn back to his own house to convalesce and I still never want to see another bandage again! Or have someone sleeping on my couch when I want a drink in the middle of the night or, bah! Any of it!
At least I have my house to myself and outside of the occasional case of horse rider bruise everyone's been healthy. I've had lots of time to study up on medicine from other towns, which is nice. I'd missed studying.
Also, Gay's younger brother was staying with her for awhile and seems interested in learning medicine. That could also be an advantage.
I want my couch back. At the very least, if I'm going to wake someone up when I want a mug of cocoa at midnight, I want that someone to be good looking and preferably curled in my bed. Not that Juri isn't an attractive enough lizard, I suppose, but I really do prefer mammals.
Not to mention another endotherm in the bed would be nice and warm.
Oh well, at least we're starting to get a good supply of medicine in storage. Now here's hoping they don't wind up going bad.
And to go along with the crazy warrior rabbit, we now have a crazy warrior velocirapter. The craziest part is that the rabbit seems to be a better fighter. This would be beyond baffling if the rabbit in question didn't also have an impressive pair of canines.
Still, between the two of them I'm going to get better at patching up wounds and setting bones than I am making medicines. At least I seem to have mastered soothing lotion.
What sort of hair brained ninny goes fighting monsters in the snow? I don't know what surprises me more: that I managed to patch her back together or that she got here in one piece.
In other news, Juri is talking about moving in for the winter. I can't tell if it's joking or not.
So far it's been a nice, quiet day. Here's hoping that doesn't change. So far Juri is making wonderful progress at medicine making and is proving to be a very pleasant, if abbreviated, conversational companion. If this keeps up, we might have a nice stock of well made medication before the next round of plague sweeps through.
Of course, knowing my luck that means I wake up sick tomorrow.
Hah. Finally got the anti-plague potion right. Naturally, I called Dustin to let him know, only to find out he'd spent a small fortune getting it somewhere else. Maybe next time that will teach him patience. Juri asked if it was really worth gloating over. The answer to that, of course, is 'yes'.
Of course, there's a new fox in town who will probably get sick along with everyone else, but at least she doesn't seem whiny.
Today is not off to an auspicious start. So far there's been a bruised up badger, a lizard with warrior's plague, and two cases of regular light plague. I'm out of anti-plague potion, curse the luck, especially since the guinea pig seems like he's going to be whiny and impatient. I'm sorry, but it takes time to make that stuff, at least if you want it to work. At least Juri showed interest in learning the trade and it's an alchemist, so at least I'll have another set of claws for backup. Now I just need to get it trained...
If one more creature complains that my medicine isn't effective enough, I'm going to tell them to make their own.
