Harls is infected with
Lycanthropy. Changes into a beastly monster after exposure to moonlight or especially frustrating board games. Howling at the moon relieves the symptoms for a little while, but use a Golden Apple for best results.
About
Harls is a very hands-on furry and spent most of her childhood playing with various building toys. She's also a great cook and her first response to meeting someone new is generally a batch of cookies or brownies or something similarly tasty. She got into construction work out of quasi-necessity as the house she grew up in was quite old and generally in need of repair.
Likes: Snickerdoodles, romantic comedies, and woodworking.
Dislikes: Pants without pockets, embarrassing herself, and small, biting fish.

Thank you for the compliment on Alfred :D
Don't tell anyone I said this, but filigree sword handles might be my new love. Okay, yeah, they're the most utterly ridiculous things ever, but they're so fun to make! Also, watching Blair explode in squeeing fit over the sword I made hi-er-her? Possibly the cutest thing ever. Still have a long way to go before I'm perfect, but apparently my work is holding up against the local monsters, so that's the important part!
I. Love. Smithing! Now that I've had Ragnar to help teach me, I've gotten so good at it! And knowing how to work with metal has made me better at my other construction projects. I feel like I can do anything! I've even thought about learning to sew, but then I thought Zuli would probably kill me, Even though, you know, Princess isn't making much these days.
Oh wow. I found out today that old Ragnar who lives outside of town used to be a blacksmith! I'd always heard that he'd been a warrior when he was younger, but apparently he'd started by learning to be a smithy so that he could do his own repairs and he retired to smithing after a run in with a rare twisted one took out his knee. .This means I have a teacher now! I am so very, very relieved.
You know, I thought I'd be terrible at this whole 'black smith' thing, but it turns out that repairs at least aren't that hard. The shields are easier than swords, admittedly, since those are largely wood which I'm used to. But I've enough experience with soldering that the swords are doable too! Maybe one day I'll try making something.
Hopefully this doesn't detract too much time wise from my construction work. I've already had to mend a bunch of the pots I made for Galatea and a few of the houses. Still, if it keeps the town warriors happy, I'll do my best. Especially Blair. After watching her get dragged to Doctor Barrow's today I'm less concerned with figuring out the boy-who-feels-like-a-girl thing than assuring she never, ever comes after me with that sword! ....or those teeth.
The new bunny is totally a boy in a dress. Or, well, today she's a boy in heavy winter trousers and a parka. With a sword. And lots of really exciting tales about slaughtering monsters.
She asked if I'd be willing to try repairing her sword. I don't know the first thing about metal working, but if it keeps her from waving that thing under my nose, I'll learn!
I never thought of myself as sheltered before, but since moving here, OMG what? There's a fox named Gay, an owl who thinks of himself as kinda male and kinda female, a badger who thinks of herself the same way, and a lizard who changes and wants to be called 'it'? What even is all of this? I mean, they're all really, really nice and I don't think they're bad or anything, but I don't know what to do with this!
The next thing I know the bunny who moved in is going to tell me she's really a boy in a dress.
Most. Embarrassing. Day. Ever.
Had a new neighbor move in. Not a big deal, right? Happens all of the time. You go, take some cookies with you, say hello, exchange names, etc. All is well, unless they're crazy-pants and tell you to get off of their lawn. Well, she didn't tell me to get off of her lawn, but I made a complete idiot of myself when she replied to "Everyone calls me Harls, who are you?" with "I'm Gay." I thought she was joking. I swear I thought she was joking! I didn't even think about it when I said "Well, that's good to know, but what's your name?" SERIOUSLY, WHO EVEN NAMES THEIR KID THAT?!?! Other than her parents, apparently.
Well, I have officially made ten pots for Galatea. I think I'm really starting to get the hang of this! Of course now the first pots I made are starting to look, er, not so good. Going to have to patch those up. I just hope I don't catch the plague that's going around.
Arashi's started to ask me about maybe building some animal stalls. I said I'm not sure I was up to it and she, well, laughed? Said if I could build houses I could build a stall. I guess there's a point in that, but I kinda keep waiting for one of the houses to fall down. At least Galatea seems to like her pots...
