Villager: Jeepers Gordy

It's a foggy night, there's a slight breeze, and it's only just chilly enough that you need a light jacket over your Halloween costume. But what's the point of dressing up if you're going to cover it up, you say? No jacket needed when you've got candy in your veins.

You're walking along the clouds, and the lamps still shine through the fog. The setting is eerie, but comforting. You're going door to door, collecting candy. You bump into lots of other costumed candy-collectors on your way, but one catches your eye...


An eight-and-a-half foot tall beast towers over you. His breath is hot, so hot you feel it from beneath him. It smells of... candy? Now that you mention it, his entire presence reeks of sweets. He blinks in confusion, tilting his head back to get a better look at you beneath him. You glance away awkwardly, but then examine him as he looks over you.

His fur is a flaming orange, accompanied by an enormous mane of Frankenstein hair. Black and white swirl together to make a patchy mix-match of colours. His horns and claws remind you of candy, and you wonder for a moment if they taste like it, too. You can almost feel the heat radiating off his fur, he seems so warm and... inviting.

A low rumble is heard above you, and you look back up to meet his eyes. They remind you of hypnosis, or the comical-representation of getting dizzy. His face almost makes you think of a Jack-o-Lantern, a large grin on his sickly-sweet smelling mouth. The initial chat is short, but he invites you to continue trick-or-treating with him.

Over the course of your hour-long adventure with who you've come to know as Gordy, what all his friends call him, he tells you all about his favourite holiday and festivities. He lives in a world of year-round Halloween, and his home is found in a cozy, log-built cabin out in a pumpkin patch. He doesn't usually stay awake through the day, but is active all night. His favourite hobby is candy-making, and candy-eating. He's a show-winning pumpkin carver, and bakes a mean pie.

When it's not Autumn, though, Gordy can be found smithing his heart out. His weaponry is known to be big, but lightweight. His favourite part of the job is the heat of the fire. It's always warm and inviting in his workshop. Maybe you'll hang out with him for more than just Halloween?
