Legends tell of a small fox spirit from the highest reaches of Quetzal Palace, where they say there is a gateway to heaven so small only the spirit can fit through it.

This spirit is attracted to strong wishes and prayers. Its sensitive ears can discern the intent of the person, so only those who want their wishes granted for pure reasons will earn favor with the spirit. However, the spirit isn't just generous, it can be malicious. If it senses your wish is only in selfishness or ill will, it will corrupt your wish in a way you never saw coming.

In some towns in Quetzal Palace, this spirit is taken very seriously and even passing comments that begin with "I wish" are quickly hushed lest the spirit comes sniffing around. Some residents believe that the spirit is slightly stubborn, and will attach itself to a person until their truest wish is granted. The Quetzel Palace phrase "a wishing fox on your shoulder" stems from this belief; it means you have impossible dreams or expectations.

The spirit collects other foxes to be its eyes and ears when it is busy. Below is the count for its emissaries.
