Marvyn grew up on Olde Foxbury, avoiding the knights and warfare and instead
gravitating toward those who sought out knowledge and magic. He worked odd jobs here
and there, using either money he earned or services he could provide to gain access to whatever books he could. Eventually, he began collecting books from outside Olde Foxbury as well, building up an impressive amount of tomes of all kinds. Thinking back to how much time he'd
spent chasing after books to read in his childhood, Marvyn decided to found his own library in Olde Foxbury in order to help others access a larger range of reading material.

To his surprise, the little library was rather successful. Other villagers would come in quite frequently to find new information, and sometimes to donate their own books to the library, which Marvyn was delighted by. He made a point to read everything that others brought in, of course - he couldn't recommend them to others properly if he didn't know what was in them. He even started a shelving section for aspiring authors, which was also relatively popular.
Marvyn was very proud of what the library had become. Yet, he found himself daydreaming about not just reading about what was out there in the world, but seeing it for himself. While still gladly carrying out his duties at his library, he secretly wished for a way to find an adventure.
And then one day, adventure found him in the form of a
rather strange, shapeshifting individual...
