The Kauai 'O'o was a little bird native to hawaii, unfortunately it went extinct in 1987 :(

The mating call recorded comes from the last known male in existence - unfortunately, it's mate died five years before it - so this mating call has no answer. :(
i'm posting this bc not only is the mating call beautiful i think its important to remember things like this, imo it helps keep things alive, so the more ppl know about it the better. i hope some of them are still living in some remote location or they're just very elusive.
