Normally, Haruspex, or Hars for short, is a kind, friendly, innocent young lizard who wishes people no harm. Then you show him meat. That's when he changes.
The kind Hars enjoys gardening, long walks in the park, and trying to help others with their problems. He isn't good at much however, so there is a 50/50 chance he will mess things up.
However, when shown meat, Hars turns into a feral beast who wishes to consume whatever is nearby. (That is edible of course.) The effects usually disappear after an hour long rampage, but entire parties have been ruined because of him. This little.... "quirk" in his behavior has been used occasionally for nefarious reasons, though Hars himself never actually tries to transform.
