Askar seems relatively quiet and reserved at first but the more comfortable he is with someone, the more he will open up. Askar prefers to create things, he often carves wooden toys for youngsters, that are always very sturdy, well made and very accurately rendered. He's quite strong for his size, as he's a bit smaller than most other wicker beasts but he has compensated for his lack of size, he's even stronger than some large wickers. Askar doesn't smile much, not genuinely, unless its around children. He's a very good planner, he can keep a cool head about him and strategize, unless he's put into the action, then he's likely to freeze and panic since large numbers of creatures at once, make him feel afraid. He would act if needs be but he wouldn't be able to think beyond 'the moment' if he was tested in battle. He much prefers a quiet life, helping his fellows where he can. Because he is rather glowy, he tends to hide away at night, where he can't be seen, usually a small cave of his own that feels safe to him.
