Okay so like theoretically if this were the high point of LJ he would have the edgiest edgelord theme and a bunch of icons that said things like "You laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same." But also about 50% of the content of the journal is book reports so if you just keep this in mind and then imagine what that person would be like grown up, that's Malyik's personality. He collects dad jokes religiously.
A cartographer of some noble renown, formerly of Olde Foxbury and now very much wanted for crimes long running with a bounty only a little higher than that treasure Meredyyd claims is buried somewhere in the oceanic wastes around Oceandome. She'd bring him in if it didn't mean loosing Shaw too and a good healer is worth more than a pirate's treasure when the Great Serpents start acting up.
Malyik normally goes by the shortened form Mal and tends to spend his days updating Nouveau Atlantis' compilation of maps, exploring abroad under the guise of a traveling scholar, annoying Shaw, or defending the city from said Great Serpents.
He likes crisp pears, new quills, night dives, sharpened blades, books, and lowkey causing chaos he does not have to directly interact with.

She squeaks with happiness, and flings her arms around him in another hug. "Thank you, Baba! I'll stay for dinner," and she peers up at him with worried eyes, "you think the captain will be okay with another mouth? It sounded like supplies were slow..." And she hums in thought. "But if you're bringing pudding maybe I can risk getting the enforcer sicced on me."
She giggles, and considers his plan. "I'll have to see... Maybe if I made it scary enough, they'll stay away even if they don't have predators..." But she beams up at Mal like it was the perfect solution, "You're so clever, Baba! Do you think you could draw me a scary predator for the kite?" Her look turned beseeching, "something big and scary with lots of teeth?"
*she did remember him climbing, and her own triumph when she could fly to join him... she tended to flutter around him anyways, so used to being up high with him. Why worry about your footing when you could fly?"
Yeah! Don't mind the nibbles, Erato's pets got at them... *she rolls her eyes, but obligingly pulls out several daffodils, larkspurs, and furry pods... all weighted down with stones* Hopefully they don't make the paper float away when you use them! *she giggles at the thought, imaging her baba trying to catch the paper*
*she laughed as he spun her around, uncaring of the ledge* No, Baba! That's cheating, you can absolutely climb up- *she reddens, and squeaks quiet* If I'm hiding up high! Theoretically, I mean. *giggles* You and Shaw will be so surprised at my hiding spot! And then we'll have tea, and cakes- I don't want him to be angry at you Baba, so of course he has to come... Clio will be happy to see him!
Baba! *she hugs him tight* Of course you're not on the bottom of the list! *frowns up at him* If you didn't like playing hide and seek you'd get to see me faster. As it is *pokes him* next time you come to the Museum I have the most amazinggggg hiding place ever, so you had better set aside a lot of time to find me! *he always found her much too fast, no matter how hard she tried*
*eyes grow wide* You're going to have to remind him to eat, Baba! And get him tea... And I'm not done with the rounds yet, but so far I've got most of the important people! You, and Shaw, and *blushes* um, Mer, and Rodney... It's a really nice day to visit everyone!
*giggles* I came to visit everyone, and of course I had to see you- and now seemed good, since I just left Shaw with his books.
