About

Pluto is the 2nd dwarf planet from the sun, and although no longer classified as a planet, was once considered the 9th after Neptune. Pluto is named after Hades, the Greek god of the underworld. Pluto is one third made of water (ice). adding up to more than three times as much water as on Earth. When Pluto gets closer to the sun, it can start to develop an atmosphere as the water melts, and freezes over as it moves away. It has been visited by one spacecraft called New Horizons. It started its mission in 2006 and landed in 2015, and is now making its way towards the Kuiper Belt.
