That's amazing! I think you can equip it on lvl 14! If you are using an INT build, it really helps. You will not notice any stat changes right away, but once you enter combat, you get a permanent status effect of +7 INT.
Thats why a lot of people use it.

Just doing your best is still enough! You may get lucky in the next mini events or something! You can also take your time to get FC and buy things from other people if you want to, but as long as you experience the game however brings you more happiness is just enought!
Opal rings are not from mini-events. If you stick around long enough, you'll experience one. Nowadays, Alure's Flames and Saul's Cursed Hamers are a staple on builds, Some people really like Peaches' Poison. But honestly, it's mostly all about special equipments. The feather dagger can be really good, tho, but you may want to research a little or stalk the forums for some builds and equipment.
Don't worry. If you keep at it, you'll get better. Altho it's all on what equips you have. A 10 lvl warrior and a 20 lvld one doesnt have much difference except on the equipments one can have. And the best equip pieces are from mini events, so they are expensive. Basically, if you are out the loop, you have to wait untill these mini events to get on the loop again, and they are very grindy, sadly.
That determination... You will get far!
