Captain of the Nouveau Atlantis, a collection of boats, rubbish, and wind turbines that serves as home to an even larger collection of misfits, outcasts, pirates, and scavengers. In her leadership position she is relentless, energetic, and inspiring.
As a person she sleeps too little, survives entirely on caffeinated beverages and stress baking, and keeps the Nouveau Atlantis floating with elbow grease, determination, and a lot of prayer. It's chief engineer alongside her brother-friend Rodney, she is the more socially conscious of the two and when not found bent over a worktable or baking table, she can be seen listening to the complaints and suggestions of the floating flotsam-cities inhabitants, flirting with pretty ladies, or making sure her adopted son Deux is still alive.
She likes really big cakes, large thermoses of coffee with heavy cream and sugar, sprinkles, cookie cutters in fanciful shapes, innovative design work, and girls. *wink wonk*
With her enforcer Jane, she makes sure the Nouveau Atlantis stays a safe home for all of it's many inhabitants.

*blushes* Thank you! Your dress is really pretty, I never would have guessed it wasn't new. *giggles* You look ready for a party. Wouldn't be great to go to a party? And dance? With all the pretty decorations, and food, and... and... um, mistl-more decorations and carols to sing!

*she shakes her head and pauses to blink up at Mer, her eyes shining with faith and enthusiasm* Everything you make is the best, Mer! But if your rations haven't come in, I can go search for the boat. *she wiggles her wings* Maybe I can fly and find them! *she's instantly enraptured by this idea, wanting to be helpful and useful*
*her eyes light up, as anything made by Mer is a Treat* I'd love a sandwich, let's have sandwiches together! *she lands, and tugs gently on Mer's arm all the way to the kitchen* This is going to be the best sandwich ever!
*Melly giggles in delight, holding onto Mer for steadiness as she's swung, keeping her wings fluttering so she doesn't fall* I can't float away, you're holding on to me *and she turns a somewhat beseeching look on Mer* I suppose if you had something to eat, we can try that too. I can't float away, I have to give you flowers.
*Melly squeaks a giggle, and her almost-gone blush comes back in full force as she jumps and flaps her wings, managing to hover nowhere near out of arm's reach* I eat more than flowers! There's carrots, and-and-cakes! *drops slightly to tickle Mer back* I'm not that little either!
*Melly gasps and sorts through the seeds, bouncing on her toes* Oh, lovely! I've never seen these before, I can't wait to experiment- *she wrinkles her nose* Dandelions are very pretty but I can grow them no problems now. And they don't taste very good, so of course I'm not the one eating them... I mean aside from a couple but I don't count those. I eat them whole, thank you, and her little rabbits are just nibbling and leaving holes in the petals.
*she giggles at Mer's winning smile, and her wings flutter* I'll bring you flowers every day if you want! Erato has flying rabbits and they keep eating my daffodils, it's very sad... I'll get you the ones that haven't been nibbled yet.
