Ayame slithered along, as fast as her serpentine body could take her. She used her key to unlock the greenhouse once they arrived. It was a small, tinted dome, but it wasn't tinted on the top, obviously to let sunlight penetrate it. She opened the door, and inside revealed hundreds of plants, of all varieties and types. Some were in planters, most were in the ground. A small table sat near the door, and it had a rack for drying plants and herbs, along with a mortar and pestle to grind them up for medicines or perfumes. Various other tools were haphazardly scattered on the table top. Ayame had been hard at work this morning, usually she was neater than that, until she got caught up in one of her projects.
The snake turned her head, and met Kes' gaze shyly. "So... wh-what do you think?" She asked, rubbing her hands together awkwardly. She actually only showed very few people her hidden paradise, so this was a rare privilege for Kes to behold.
The plants were lush and in bloom, fragrant, flowery smells invaded their nostrils. It was like a mini jungle almost.
Ayame cleared her throat. "So, um... want to see my greenhouse?" the snake asked, at a loss of anything else to say or do. Plus, her plants were her pride and joy, her passion. Perhaps Kes would be impressed, and Ayame wanted to impress the owl.
Ayame gingerly grabbed Kes' feathers, and shook her wing. "It's nice to meet you too." She said quietly, but sincerely. She rather liked this owl, she seemed very nice. Plus, the avian smelled faintly of a particular fruit pie, which made the armed reptile feel cozy for some reason.
"Me either. I p-prefer to stick to the ground. M-most plants grow better down here anyways." The pale snake said with a nervous laugh. She hated being so awkward and shy, but she typically couldn't help it. "Oh! Uh, my n-name is Ayame, by the way." She stammered, and held out her small hand.
"H-hi, I like y-your flower crown... it has a n-nice darker color scheme." Ayame mumbled nervously, not meeting the beautiful owl's eyes. She clasped her clammy hands together, and stared at the ground, blushing even brighter than she had previous.
Aw, what a cutie.
