"So you can make noise. Interesting." She seemed to be squirming, and Talenti's expression did not change as he stared at her. He remained dapper, possibly even reveling in the discomfort the poor creature was in. Then, suddenly, he slammed the book closed making a startling THWUMP! "But I don't think we'll make any progress here, and I can't be late for tea. For now I'll have to leave you someplace safe, pet. Come with me." Once again he stood up. He was friends with Valio, and Valio was friends with everyone else. He would find a place for the creature to stay, and find other people who could show them more patience. Talenti was not the bull to help her, he had already fulfilled his karma quota for the whole week. Just this last favor, and Talenti would go back to digging up bones and making dark quips at Valio. His curiosity in the lost creature had run dry, quite quickly.
"Well that's a problem. How can we ship you back home if you can't tell us your address? And I had so many stamps for postage, too. Ho hum." He turned away from the tank and walked towards a small table in the corner of the room, fully expecting the creature to follow. He pulled out a book full of maps and turned to a page of Dragonsmaw Manor, complete with colorful pictures of recognizable landmarks, "We'll have to do this the tedious way, I hope this won't take long. I have tea with an old friend in an hour. Now, do you recognize any of this?"
"A fish is a water animal. It breathes water through those little cuts in its neck," Talenti explained plainly. The creature seemed like an artificial being, or at least some kind of frankenstein monster, with parts all stitched together like that. Not that it mattered all too much to Talenti, he had seen much stranger and much more hostile. "You're a curious case. You seem like you weren't created long ago, beings you don't know what a simple fish is. Can you speak?"

"..." For a moment Talenti's eyes widened in surprise. That was quite the unexpected response! After a second, his expression lightened, a bemused twinkle in his gaze. The poor fish flopped helplessly in Saoirse's hand, but Talenti came forward and gently pushed their hand back into the tank, "You can't save him because he doesn't need saving. You're a cute little monster, aren't you? Do you know what a fish is?"
"It's too late, his body is filled with water. You can't save him now."
