Ye Shou and Chou sounds perfect eep <3 awesome. It's probably better that way bc I see nine-tailed kitsunes as being like,, absolute masters of magic. Whereas Shou looks a little young, def on his way to being an expert tho! Idk if that makes sense but it does to me hshfdfds

Well Chou means butterfly which is her favourite animal; what if they are named the Japanese for what their favourite animals are? ^_^ or another pretty insect, but like whatever they are in Japanese (e.g. Kamakiri means mantis)
I adore them what a cutie!!? ;w; Yeah that makes sense! Chou is a little immature with her magic too and likes to make believe (e.g. pretending that her staff is the source of her magic and using 'magic words') also she's basically still at apprentice level so ya they're probably alot more skilled than she is. >w< no matter what gender I'm excited that Chou's getting a magical teammate!! :'D ♡

Whichever would suit their personality best! Tbh the mythic fox base looks alot more mature, so maybe that would suit a slightly more serious personality (or-a-tsundere-cough-cough) >w> but if you want them to be the energetic and happy-go-lucky type then the usual fox base would work better I think!
