XD That would be cool, I know their work so I know they did an amazing job! I haven't heard of any houses destroyed in Galveston so I'm sure their's are fine too :D That would be a lot of fun too, I love figuring out what people will choose before they tell them. (I'm usually right too!) I really love your dream, so sweet ^^ I'm sure your daughter would appreciate it too XD *hugs* <3
I know exactly what you mean! Before my uncle started his business that is exactly how I felt, and that is not a good feeling ): Oh my gosh, I love that show.. well those two, I haven't seen any of the ones they did here ): (we don't have cable, it's waaay to expensive D: ) but they do post a lot of their shows online so we've seen (all) of their old ones XD Galveston does have some really pretty houses, during Ike a lot of them were destroyed though ): however that just made them rethink how they were built and build them back even stronger! (I live in the city you have to drive through to get to Galveston XD) we have some pretty houses but they're spread over everywhere... Galveston is a great tourist area though, we go there a few times a year for Moody Gardens, very pretty :3 I'd recommend vacationing there for a few days/weeks if you ever have the opportunity. (I would say I'm biased but ^^' I actually hate a lot of the city x.x but that's because I've actually had to do business there not just fun (court house is there.. and were you go for jury duty... lol ) but the places to visit are very nice so you won't have to see the non fun stuff XD! They also have something called "Duck Tours" I've always liked them but after Harvey I now love them. They take people out on a tour and they're a vehicle for land and water! After Harvey they were out saving people <3 So very, very wonderful people <3
I work for my uncle, I can't do "real" jobs.. to many issues... I always end up getting "relieved" because I'm to slow, to weak, panic to easily... etc... but I enjoy working for my uncle, he's really relaxed and of course knows my issues so doesn't press me.
You know, I hadn't even thought of all those people from New Orleans and what they're going through dealing with this AGAIN. Oh my gosh.. those poor, poor people ): It is nice to see everyone pulling together though, although accordingly, a lot of people have had enough and are leaving this area. I don't blame them at all, but I am sad to see so many people that I've seen leave. Then again, haha I've wanted to move myself for years now, I want to move to Austin, seems safer than right here on the coast (and Austin is beautiful!) Who knows, maybe one day we can move there and I'll see some familiar faces! Oh I did find out my grandmother, Uncle, and moms garage took some water but no damage! I also found out we lost a tree (a small tree) lol... I don't know how I didn't notice the poor thing until now but.. ah well. I feel sorry for the pretty little thing but to only loose that, I am not complaining! Oh, something odd, we actually lost power last night! It was only for a few hours but so strange to loose it once everything has calmed down, still no complaining, it wasn't to hot last night so we didn't cook and of course it came back before the sun came up.
I got to go to work today! It was so strange... part of the drive I was like.. alright.. we're okay, not to much damage. Then... farther in, all the bags of "trash" (peoples soaked clothing/kids toys/etc), the carpets, the furniture that got ruined.. it's so heart breaking but at the same time it's like.. thank god they're alive. I heard on the radio the death count went up to 30 from the water. (I'm not sure how many people were taken from the chemical explosion, I do know at least one person was caught in a house fire during the storm, but from what they've said most has been from all the water). While that is, very, very sad. There is a bright side, I have never seen so many people coming out to help. I love seeing all these people, that don't even know anyone here, coming out to help. It's so wonderful <3 I think it's going to be a very emotional time for awhile too... heh..
(not a fan, you're fine <3) There's sun today! We can actually see the sun! Up in Rockport they have trucks set up for people to get hot meals I'm so, so happy they have that. They took so much damage.. but at least they're getting warm meals! Our city is finally able to be left, the roads have cleared enough we can leave! My dads house just lost power last night though, I want him to come here and stay with us but, ugh.. so stubborn.. I know, we are going to have a lot... a lot of rebuilding to come.. but I'm so happy for what we have left.
Bless y'all <3 We're getting the bad end of it now, it's going from heavy rain to just steady. No one can get out of the city now (or in) I just found out the ends of my dads street are flooded but the houses are okay. The schools are getting real close to having water in them but so far they're okay. The street behind us, the house on the end has water coming in ): Hopefully it'll be over soon.
So far we're very lucky, we live on the highest side of the city (right off the gulf, literally a block down) we only have 2 inches of standing water but so many of my friends have lost their homes.. some don't know if they're safe, the dams are full so they're having to release them so one of my friends is about to loose his home. It's so scary.. I don't know what's going to happen to my friends.. ):
So... I think I told you I live in Texas... I didn't tell you I live in South East Texas by the gulf.... it's getting scary here ):
XD I'm told it's a magical time where you go to some far off land and lay out under a palm tree with a margarita (or something like that)
That's for sure!
I'm glad you're better, having the flu is AWFUL, especially when topped with everything else T_T I hope you get lots of rest and relaxation <3 (and maybe a vacation after being sick, I think you deserve one!)
