No, you need to domesticate the animal all the way to level 10. After that, you can "export animal" and it will be sent to your inventory. Then from your inventory you send it to your stall, where you set a price for someone to buy it. (Always check what others are selling the same items for.)
Furvilla has the "help" tab with some articles about each occupation, it may be helpful to you! I used it a lot.
I sent you a female winter hare I did not need. Hope it helps you out some :) She still needs to be domesticated all the way, but do whatever you want with her!
