Ooh, I've never really looked into comics.
You should definitely make an online comic strip, I'm sure it would get lot's of attention.
I 'know' many popular people that got there starting from comic websites.
I generally write about my own experiences, using fictional characters. Although (Sometimes) a bit of my own imagination is thrown in there :)
