Your eyes flicker open, confused. Your body hurts all over and you're in a strange place- a hospital bed, the hypnotic humming of the generators echoing through the hallway. You could catch a glimpse of figures passing by the delicately curtained windows. However, you are adventurous, and the humming seemed so inviting. While one might display precaution in this situation, there was no sense of danger about you. You rip the IV out of your arm and proceed towards the door.
You open the door, peering down the hallway. Empty. You could have sworn you saw people occupying the previously busy corridor. Your attention is quickly diverted to that humming noise. It was louder now, the comforting noise dissolving any lasting worry that held your heart.

Your body begins to shake, muscles spasming as you crash to the floor, heaving up vomit. You choke, taking a few moments before you open your swollen eyes. Your head is throbbing, but your heart drops as you see the substance that poured from your mouth. It wasn't blood, it was worse. It looked like somebody had put a long dead opossum in a blender, chunks of guts and maggots lay strewn through the fluid.
