=====Newbie Guide AKA "How to Play Furvilla"=====
A lot of people come here and are confused as to what to do. The answer is simple: whatever you want. Furvilla is a sandbox game where you are the mayor of a small band of villagers. You decide jobs, build homes, and what happens to your villagers
=====All About Villagers
Villagers can learn more than one job. However, they can only use one job at a time. A villager can switch jobs every two hours or so. Multiple villagers can have the same job if you like. You can have only 10 villagers working t the same time without using very expensive items to gain more worker slots.
Villagers can have pets, but the pets are mostly cosmetic. You can click them sometimes to gain heart points (which do nothing) and occasionally a little money. Outfits and Keepsakes are equipment used to aid villagers in their jobs. Pay attention to Buffs on items. Put items on villagers to match their jobs and you will get special effects.
Costumes (more info) grant a permanent skill buff, but cost a lot. Don't worry about them until later. Painties don't do anything. They just look pretty. You need to provide your own art to get one. All other colors and appearance changers are cosmetic only.
=====About Items and Shopping
In general, items that you find are not expensive. Items you can make sometimes are worth money if sold. Always check price of ingredients vs sale price of item before making. Don't sell event items or limited items unless you are absolutely sure you can get it back. Those are the hardest to find.
When you go shopping, don't forget to check out the search in the top right corner. The search box will give hints on where an item comes from, if you can make it, and how rare it is. If you see a blueprint/schema/ect you can click it for a list of ingredients. You can also click the ingredients or look them up in the search to learn where to find/make them.
Keep an eye out for the following notes on items you search for:
FDE = Furdollar Emporium. If it's not in the Furdollar emporium, it is currently retired. Some items cycle back in while others don't.
Event = This item came from a special site event. You won't be able to get it again unless the event happens again and has the same items available. Events tend to happen around USA holidays like Christmas and Halloween.
Village = This item is found by villagers from a specific town. If you don't live there, you will need to buy it from someone who does.
Shop name in link blue = This item can be bought from a main shop in game. Click the link to buy.
Limited = You can't get this item by making and it's not sold in stores. It's either a very rare drop from a warrior or explorer, a FDE item, or comes from an event.
=====Earning money
Many people ask how to earn money.
Most games have you use your shop to sell to other players. This doesn't work well here. Shop stalls are very slow. Be patient! Selling things to players can make you money but it's not the easiest way to do things.
I would say the easiest and most reliable way to earn money in Furvilla is to make good use of your villagers jobs and skills. Here is a quick rundown of the various jobs and what you need to know about them.
=====Jobs that earn you money
All of these jobs earn money directly or indirectly.
Explorer: The base job that gets you slabs, money and other useful items. If a villager is not doing something right now, explorer is a good choice.
Warrior: Requires some combat gear, but also gets you items and sometimes money. You will want a warrior as combat drops are the easiest way to get some items. You can always sell anything you don't need.
Herbalist: This one doesn't earn money directly. Instead, you grow plants from seeds. The plants can be sold directly or made into items you can sell..
Jobs that save you money
These jobs may not earn money, but they are usually cheaper than buying these items from others.
Construction: Builds and repairs homes, herbalist pots, and animal stables. Each repair/build increases skill level. Higher skill level = better durability but more expensive build cost. Requires slabs to build. Just hoard the ones explorers find and you'll be OK.
Early on, it may be wise to buy damaged goods with decent durability from others. Repair the damaged things to gain skill. Never use any item with durability of 1. If an item hits durability 0 it will break! Repair it by removing it, then go to your construction worker. Click "repair" and select your damaged item.
Houses, stables, and herbalist pots all have durability ratings so keep an eye on those numbers. You can see equipped house durability by clicking "villagers". Equipped pot and stable durability shows up under their matching jobs. Unequipped houses, pots, and stables are in your inventory with durability ratings displayed.
Alchemist: Creates items for other artisans. If your personal goal is something like a costume or a morphing potion, these guys will save you money. if not, don't worry about them.
Blacksmith: Used to be important, but now mostly just makes warrior equipment. Sometimes it can be cheaper to make higher level gear than to buy it. Check prices of parts and blueprints before buying gear from others.
Crafter: Basically like the blacksmith, but the items tend to be used by tailors. Can be useful if you need some specialized warrior equipment, but check prices first.
Doctor: Not terribly important as furries don't get sick so often, but if you want to do quests sometimes a doctor can make items quests asks for. Sometimes you can sell some medicine for money, too, but this is usually very slow.
These jobs cost you money
Certain jobs are more of an expensive hobby for advanced players than a viable way to make money for new folks. These jobs can be fun later on, but early on you probably shouldn't worry about them.
Animal Husbandry: Very slow career that mostly nets you common animals that won't sell well. This can be fun later if you want to start hoarding leaves for the cottage shop. However, getting to that point requires a lot of female animals to breed which takes time and money.
Tailor: Makes costumes, some armor items, and that's about it really. Many costumes cost money to do on top of requiring a list of tricky to get items your alchemist will need to make. You may want one of these guys later if you like the costumes, but it will probably be a part time job that is rarely used for most players.
Cook: The one job that will devour your bank account. Almost every recipe requires multiple items from the cooking shop. You can't make or find these items. From there, you need to spend materials and time to make the food. The materials sometimes require the help of other villagers to make. This gets extremely expensive in time, money, and items.
You don't need to feed villagers or pets. Food is only used in the monthly Feast/Food Drive contests. It even can go bad if you don't use it! Don't even bother with a cook until you are well established and have money to burn.
===== I have a question that isn't answered here!
You have three choices here.
1) You can check the official help pages. These can be outdated, but still may point you in the right direction.
2) You can read around the forums. The guides section and help section might have what you need. If nobody is talking about what you want to know, make a thread in the help section and politely ask for advice.
3) You can always ask me. My messages are open. I can be slow to reply, but I will reply eventually.
Welcome to Furvilla!
Ps: if you made it this far, PM me and I'll toss you free stuff.
