New Species and Rules Revamp
Posted by Mat on 28 Jul 2016, 6:30 pm
Good evening villagers, we are happy to announce that Olde Foxbury now has its own rare species, the Saggitari! This taurian species fits in perfectly with the atmosphere of Olde Foxbury, and comes in three initial colors: Giraffe, Quagga, and Okapi.
Second, our staff has gotten together to discuss and completely revamp the Rules pages. We have condensed the three rules pages (Code of Conduct, Forum, and Chat) into one single rules page, which is linked from the Terms of Service. As the game has been open for three weeks, we have gotten an idea of what rules are necessary to keep it functioning smoothly, and have made adjustments accordingly.
Following our rules update, we will be closing our forums for approximately twenty-four hours for clean-up (but we will likely re-open them sooner). One issue we have been tackling is the sheer amount of spam that has hit our forums, and as soon as the clean-up of spam is complete we will re-open the forums for everyone to enjoy. The chatrooms will remain open if you would like to contact other players, and our moderators will be diligently watching the channels.
Have a great evening!
VampAllana You think being nice to everyone is too difficult? I guess you won't be getting a job in customer service any time soon. LOL! Being nice to people is more a case of good manners than an attack on your freedom of speech. As a wise bunny once said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all."
SAGITTARIIII I have been waiting for thisss -flex-
"It's not okay to mock people for their gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc - so even if it's a joke, people can be hurt" Thank you so much for this!!! Some of the 'jokes' people were making on a certain sexuality were just getting awful.
lol @ people acting like being a halfway decent person is a chore.
thank you for the updates! and the new species is adorable!
I don't have any issues with the rules.
Another site I use has specific sub-forums for people to talk in languages other than English. Each language gets its own subforum if/when there is appropriate moderators that can understand that language. Sometimes people complain that their language is not included. But until content in that language can be moderated efficiently, they have to just deal with it and wait until it can be.
The main concern is that people can use alternate languages to get around rules, they could be saying sexual or insulting things in another language because they know the moderators will not understand what is being said, It has nothing to do with discrimination against any languages or the ethnic groups that use them.
Fabric Thank you! ^-^
Added note, Search by "Last Modified". The base will be the first image.
"Be nice to others, even if you don't like them."
Thank you thank you thank youuu! The amount of totally unnecessarily hostility in the forums was honestly pretty unnerving. _ @
The whole bit about keeping conversations with staff members private seems really shady, I don't think I've ever been on a site that had a rule like that. Why would it matter if you share with other users what staff members have told you? Shouldn't the staff members' information be correct and useful to all players, not just the player they interact with?
