Greetings, villagers! Furvilla has been joined by a new species: the Shifty! This is a new rare species that can be crafted out of Tigereye Peak, and brings with it a large change to the Paintie System. Because canonically the Shifty can mimic the appearance of anything it sees, Painties for the Shifty have a large range of artist freedom and do not require the use of a Furvilla base.

The full rules for the Shifty can be read by visiting the Paintie Rules page.

We have released Morphing Potions for the entirety of species available on Furvilla. The recipes for these potions are stocking in their respective village shops, as all potions have been split up among the villages In addition, an option has been added to the Potions Shop of your village that permits you to pay the shopkeeper to obtain a specific result out of a species potion. For those of you who have been asking for a way around the randomness of a potion, especially as we release new colors for our species, this should definitely help!

In addition, some Paintie Rules have been clarified or amended by the Paintie Admins:

- Rule 1 Amendment: When creating a Paintie for a costume, the Paintie must match the base of the costume.
- Rule 2 Amendment: Species changes allowed on a Furvilla base involve subgroups of animals that are similar to each other, such as deer and goats.
- Rule 2 Amendment (2): Masks are permitted as a head edit.
- Rule 3 Amendment: Players are allowed to use base artwork of Costumes that match the Costume they are designing a Paintie for. For instance, when designing an Aquatic Wolf, players are permitted to use body parts from other Aquatic Costumes, provided they are not a costume for a rare species (which does not exist yet).
- Rule 6 Amendment: Rule Six was changed to "Painties May Not Include Prohibited Content" and also clarify that our rules regarding alcohol and drug use apply to Painties as well.
- Rule 6 Amendment (2): Indicates that the Paintie Team reserves the right to reject a Paintie for sexual content even if the specific item is not listed, if the Paintie comes off as sexual.
- Rule 8 Amendment: Players may shrink the base slightly to accommodate edits to the head area of the base, provided that the base is not made smaller than 3/4ths its original size.

Last among the major changes is that we have uncapped the ability to create villagers, though the Villagers page has a steep cost to adding additional villagers. We know that you have wanted to add additional characters to your accounts and hope that this change gives you the freedom to do so, while also providing a good sink for FurCash. We are currently working on capping all careers to a reasonable level so that the unlimited villagers option does not have a detrimental effect on the economy.

Have a great day!

    • If you want to be able to make a shifty potion, it is just like the Wickerbeast, Dutch Angel Dragon, and Manokit. You can get someone to buy you the recipe and then have your alchemist learn it. It's nice that Tigerseye Peak plants are useful now! Can't wait to see what they give Foxbury.

My wondering is, can we apply a Wickerbeast potion and then a Shifty potion on top of that so we can make a free-form wickerbeast?

    • Koeki the problem isn't that it can't be traded. The issue is, it is available to initially be made by a single village.

The price of the plants required in making it (which looks to be some of all plants from the area!) are going to be super valuable, seeds for herbalists to grow are going to become super valuable. The containers are going to be super valuable to trade outside of the area.

Basically this gives Tigerseye a super valuable potion, that will be wanted more than almost any costume, and any other morphing potion in the game. As it can be anything the user wants it to be for uploading painties.

    • Fumi-LEX I picked my village because it befits the theme I'm going for and eventually would like to do for all my characters in terms of panties. Although I imagine I can get away with using the dragon base, I rather use my own art, as I imagine you would as well considering your Fumidragons and all.

      Seeing the strong initial response, I imagine there might be a change because the shifty as it is, creates an imbalance in terms of rare species to me, as with everything else you can't deviate from the base all that much and still have it be the same species. Although if it remains this way? I'll just move towns and get used to growing the new plants XD;;

    • Ironheart Because those are specific species, with thw same restrictions as all the other species. This shifty is essentially a freebie card, if I'm understanding the concept correctly, to pretty much do whatever you want. That's not something that ought to be village locked. Harder to get, sure. Monopolized, no. It would basically make Tigereye the most financially powerful village; encouraging the majority of players to abandon their current villages in search of making an easy buck, simply because it very well would end up the single most coveted 'species' in the game.

I'm all for the idea. But I agree with what others have already said. It needs to be obtained evenly. Either in the FurDollar store, or something from all villages that uses ingredients from all villages.

    • ....Don't really like the idea entirely. Unless it's limited to animals because I don't want to see a bunch of random things all over the sites, like humans, inanimate objects....ect. Would ruin the theme of the site imo. Also that would basically give players a right to make free gembounds outside the base??? I really think some restrictions need to exist still or there's going to be a mess...

It's a closed population. Hyperinflation is going to happen regardless. Besides, it takes a lot more stuff to fund that many new villagers. That stuff isn't going to magically appear out of nowhere when you have 60 explorer turns. Even if you have a bunch of warriors, you still run into the problem of weapons creation and upkeep for all of them, plus human limitation in working through them all.

    • Also, with the animal husbandry career. I literally had 8 failed capturing attempts. Every single one of my pets failed to catch something. So adding only able to attempt 10 times I could very easily fail on every single one of those attempts. Animal husbandry has too much of a fail rate to limit it. Along with the huge amount of commons people tend to release. Maybe they try 10 times to collect, one succeeds and get a male black bird, so they release it or sell it for 50FC after they spent a couple hours taming it. That is actually a very feasible thing to happen along with the breeding cooldown and how unlikely you are to get rare pets or colorations in the first place. Common pets are common for a reason and people are panicking about them going down in value but they have a sellback value of 10FC. Honestly the people panicking probably aren't figuring it's not even a month into this beta session, the economy hasn't even have a chance to settle.

    • Riboo YEA exactly, I was thinking of moving to tigereye too and have also been holding back in case they do allow shifty for other villages. I really love oceandome, and I don't want my one chance to move villages to be forced because it nigh impossible to afford a shifty without living in a particular place.

    • my two cents worth: It doesn't say anywhere that a person can't _buy_ the shifty if someone were to craft it and put it up for sale. I'm sure it's a potion or some ofher item like most craftables.
