We have been consolidating and reviewing a lot of feedback on various rules we have, and are happy to announce that all of the updated rules have been released.

1. The Terms of Service no longer forbids breasts, but instead focuses entirely on nipple exposure. Breasts are now allowed on Painties as well as artwork posted on Furvilla provided they follow the nipple rule. We feel this best represents a SFW environment while also not implying sexualization of people with that body shape.

2. The Terms of Service clarify our position on game asset trading with other browser games. The short answer is, we are fine with trading, however, we would like you to wait until the game is out of beta before doing so.

3. The Code of Conduct now indicates that CSS should not be used to cover or alter game stat information, including hiding or altering your or your villager's stats, or replacing your villager's image with CSS.

4. Our Forum Rules have now been updated to indicate that the phrase 'illegal drugs' refers to United States federal law, as there are discrepancies between the laws of different countries regarding what is an illegal drug, as well as individual states within the US.

5. Finally, after taking in all feedback with Painties and speaking with our Paintie moderators, we have completely revamped the Painties rule page in a way we hope clarifies everything regarding Paintie rules. We have been struggling with the inventive ways that players are creating some Painties, but unfortunately some are created in ways we did not intend for our bases to be used. We hope that this guide clarifies what we consider permissible for the use of our bases and helps clear confusion.

That now covers all the rules that have been changed thanks to your feedback. We also wanted to let you know that moderator applications are now closed. We received over a thousand applications and have hired our team. We do not yet have an ETA on releasing the forums as the moderators are occupied with ironing out issues with Painties. We will provide you an update when we have an idea of when the forums will be ready to re-release.

Last, here are a list of changes that have been implemented since Monday, the majority of them from suggestions e-mailed to us:
- grayed out Change Career button when idle
- destroy unwanted recipes from career page
- removed white gradient on long Private Messages
- Transfer Currency / Transfer Item on user page
- horizontal scrollbar appear in the message box when needed
- view all recipes/their reagents for reference: searching items in the museum now provides a list of reagents (for recipes), or a link to the recipe that crafts the item, or links to all recipes that use the item
- placed a button in the blacksmith career page that straight away takes you to repair requests
- Villagers page indicates which villagers are sick and with what
- item pages now include links to NPC shops if the item stocks there
- Paintie Removal button to strip a Paintie from a villager at the user's request
- the following items can now be used from the inventory on villagers who are not the active villager: medicines, pets, recipes, costumes, species potions, hp potions

    • "[Bug Fix] Fixed bug where warriors would not lose HP during the same turn a piece of armor breaks."

      Autch!

    • Verne Kijame do you have any way of contact outside of Furvilla? Also sorry still on slow phone..

    • Verne
I'm actually pretty amused that we have just had a major weapons upgrade, but people are focusing on painties. XD

Anyway, I'm predicting at least one other major paintie rules update within the next month, as problems with the current paintie rules becomes clear to mods. :P

But maybe give things a day or two while you cool down, and if you decide to take a small break, make sure to check back semi-regularly for paintie updates. I'm sure they'll come. :)

    • I definitely wouldn't dare commission a paintie at this point, yeah. Too much risk of something going wrong...wouldn't be fun for either the artist or the recipient.

I do have hope that they'll fix this, though--they do overall seem very receptive of feedback. Can only wait and see, I guess...

      meanwhile it's 5 am, oops

    • Kitty I didn't include the paragraph about the face altering that followed, but yeah. XD I'll probably keep my paintie commissions on hold until I see where this goes.

    • I definitely do think that if you put in the hard work for a costume, you should have more freedom with its base, yeah. That the opposite is currently the case feels very unbalanced. If you earned something, you should be allowed to use it.

    • Gwennafran Yeah, that's what I was thinking, honestly. The painties were the reason I joined, and while I'm hoping my and others' issues will cause a positive change, it still is...unenjoyable, to say the least, to have this happen. Full disclaimer, I've never played Aywas, FR, or...really any site that lets you customise stuff except for an older site that had full on custom pets that needed no approval and varied wildly in quality, as there were no bases.

Quitting for now and coming back later is certainly on the table, but I'll give it a day or so more. I am sorry for any troubles I'm causing here, on that note--didn't mean for the discussion to get as big as it did. But hopefully this gets the issue noticed, at the same time.

    • Rip, no costumes for the extra species is silly. If you buy a costume you should be able to use costume parts in your painties for that species that doesn't have a costume etc. If anything they should be MORE lenient with costumes than default bases.

    • On painties:
Again, I'm from Aywas, so my perspective is very different.

A thing to keep in mind, though. Is that almost all mods were hired *after* the open beta started, meaning they all are super new at this.
(that, BTW, is a major problem... They should have had more than 5 mods when opening, and considering everything else on site being so polished, there's no way site creators didn't know this would be a problem.)

Anyway: We're beta users, and early paintie creators are trail blasers.
So yeah, paintie rules get updated as problems turn up. And staff is going to make a LOT of mistakes, before they all know what they are doing with painties.
If this is a major problem for you as an artist, I strongly advise you to wait 2 months before doing your paintie, and let others clear the path first. 'cause I have no doubt all the borderline cases right now get treated pretty differently depending on who's approving.

It is a problem that you're testing beta with something you paid money for, I absolutely agree on that. But if rejections hit you strongly, my best advise really is to wait two months, and let other's do the hard legwork. Especially if you're doing total repaints or species changes.
It may not be "just" or "fair", but it is the reality of what we got.

    • My thoughts about custom species: It will probably cost more than a regular Paintie and have loads more regulations. You probably won't be allowed to use existing parts.

'Course, that's all worst scenario speculation from an admittedly salty bird, so...maybe not.

Re: face staying the same, that's if you overhaul the body. It works the same in reverse...again, my Verne Paintie. And Millie matches the body perfectly, save for longer fingers and the addition of her small son perched on her finger. So...yeah, it shouldn't be an issue...
