We have been consolidating and reviewing a lot of feedback on various rules we have, and are happy to announce that all of the updated rules have been released.

1. The Terms of Service no longer forbids breasts, but instead focuses entirely on nipple exposure. Breasts are now allowed on Painties as well as artwork posted on Furvilla provided they follow the nipple rule. We feel this best represents a SFW environment while also not implying sexualization of people with that body shape.

2. The Terms of Service clarify our position on game asset trading with other browser games. The short answer is, we are fine with trading, however, we would like you to wait until the game is out of beta before doing so.

3. The Code of Conduct now indicates that CSS should not be used to cover or alter game stat information, including hiding or altering your or your villager's stats, or replacing your villager's image with CSS.

4. Our Forum Rules have now been updated to indicate that the phrase 'illegal drugs' refers to United States federal law, as there are discrepancies between the laws of different countries regarding what is an illegal drug, as well as individual states within the US.

5. Finally, after taking in all feedback with Painties and speaking with our Paintie moderators, we have completely revamped the Painties rule page in a way we hope clarifies everything regarding Paintie rules. We have been struggling with the inventive ways that players are creating some Painties, but unfortunately some are created in ways we did not intend for our bases to be used. We hope that this guide clarifies what we consider permissible for the use of our bases and helps clear confusion.

That now covers all the rules that have been changed thanks to your feedback. We also wanted to let you know that moderator applications are now closed. We received over a thousand applications and have hired our team. We do not yet have an ETA on releasing the forums as the moderators are occupied with ironing out issues with Painties. We will provide you an update when we have an idea of when the forums will be ready to re-release.

Last, here are a list of changes that have been implemented since Monday, the majority of them from suggestions e-mailed to us:
- grayed out Change Career button when idle
- destroy unwanted recipes from career page
- removed white gradient on long Private Messages
- Transfer Currency / Transfer Item on user page
- horizontal scrollbar appear in the message box when needed
- view all recipes/their reagents for reference: searching items in the museum now provides a list of reagents (for recipes), or a link to the recipe that crafts the item, or links to all recipes that use the item
- placed a button in the blacksmith career page that straight away takes you to repair requests
- Villagers page indicates which villagers are sick and with what
- item pages now include links to NPC shops if the item stocks there
- Paintie Removal button to strip a Paintie from a villager at the user's request
- the following items can now be used from the inventory on villagers who are not the active villager: medicines, pets, recipes, costumes, species potions, hp potions

    • Verne I see what you mean. I just read the rules before and thought that would be good enough, because I didn't think there'd be any hidden rules that hadn't been put up before they accepted painties. :/ I wish I would've asked first.

    • Here are my thoughts in short: It's slightly inconvenient that you can no longer copy/paste from rare bases or costumes.

      In long:

But it's not like they're telling you that you can't make anything that looks similar or get someone else to make something similar. Painties are supposed to be premium content and they do you know, own the actual site content. I think it's generous painties are an option at all, and you're still afforded a huge amount of creativity with them.

They're not being unfair by asking that you create or at least get someone else to create the art yourself/themselves. They're just asking that you respect the content they created and ask if you want to modify something yourself you put in the effort to make it yourself/get someone else to.

The fact that previously accepted painties will probably have to be redone is...More inconvenient. I think it would have been a smarter move to not make players redo them since it was not illegal when they were uploaded and approved. Ex post facto laws and all. That said, since this is beta and they want to control the quality/content if they're willing to go through all of them and ask people to change them, it's not unreasonable.

All in all, while it is a bummer to have spent time/effort/money on something only to later be informed you must change it, it also is something that should be if not expected, at least possibly anticipated. You're allowed to be grumpy about the change, but you shouldn't act as if this is some violation of your rights as a player of this game. It is not.

    • On the one hand, I do sympathise with people upset because the rules weren't previously clear and their Painties were accepted for one reason or another. But on the other hand, I know the rule isn't actually new because I explicitly asked if my Paintie would be okay before I dared put any more work into it than a sketch, and I sort of feel like that would be something more people would do? I didn't want to risk putting in the hours until I was sure it'd be okay, and now that I've been given the go ahead (after being warned about costume parts), I have been working on it.

So...I can see both sides of this. It's not really entirely the fault of anyone. I get being upset, though, yeah. Just maybe not...vitriolic?

Couldn't agree more. Now I am completely lost because I sincerely don't know how to fix my paintie, at least the one I got rejected before of this explained why it wasn't accepted.

    • Except people are paying for painties, too. We aren't getting them for free. They cost real money, and take time and effort - photoshop skills, art skills, everything. I'm sorry but grinding for a few hours for a bunch of plants isn't special enough to me to warrant a rule forbiding these rare bases from being used in painties.

    • But that's your choice for buying the potions to make the pets or to give them an extra look. Having wings from another base isn't going to devalue your purchase at all.

    • Does anyone know where I can find the clydesdale base? I've looked at both the google drive and the fur affinity page but I can't find it.

    • I think it would really be appreciated if staff took the time to detail what went wrong in the actual message that was given to players. I've been in this situation before-- I've worked for a game that required me to accept custom designs before they were allowed to be used in the game. If players recieved a message of something as generic as: 'It doesn't match the base.' they're going to be pissed. The abuse I suffered by the hands of angry players is taxing and it's because of situations like this. Tell the players how they can fix it and you're going to see a lot less e-mails regarding people's frustration.

These aren't simple bases we're editing... they don't have layers and they have intricate detailed shading that we have to replicate, so for every change we have to guess at. Changing the position of a leg or an arm can amount of hours of work. None of it is a quick fix.

I still firmly believe that there should at least be an option for an entirely custom base to be made. This can be less accessible or more expensive, whatever helps fund your site and not lay waste to people's efforts and hard work. I understand that the game made these bases for a certain purpose but if you never wanted people to be able to customize them the way they see fit then they shouldn't be customizable to begin with. :B

    • i think it's really odd that you can add feathered wings but you cannot splice them from the dutch angel dragon base. those wings aren't particularly "special" by themselves, they're actually very, very basic. as long as you don't try and patch together a makeshift DAD, i see no problem in using parts from the "rare" species.

and although i agree with not deviating too far with the bases, i see a lot of discrepancy here. must we keep the pose if the creature is obviously the species? i've seen bases with major, major edits to the base be accepted, and i've seen rejected ones that follow lines for the base more closely with no seeming reason aside from a small/medium bit of deviation.

You shouldn't be losing quality on anything as long as you're sizing down? You can resize the entire dragon/raptor base and then take the small wings from it, or you can use the transformation tool/resize the entire canvas to size them down after erasing the rest of the base and it shouldn't make them lose quality?
