Ana says:

Greetings, villagers of the mainland. The time has come, and the serpent has landed on the mainland and is ready for your offerings. This ancient beast is one of the last remaining from the old times, before written history, before the villages came together in a global economy and named themselves, collectively, Furvilla. This serpent is where the villagers of Quetzal Palace have made our town, and its constant movement allows us travel across the entire Furvillian continent. Except for these coming two weeks, at least...

The serpent is peculiar, you see. It enjoys collecting small animals and weaponry/armor (though we are widely uncertain what it does with these items). If you bring it an offering of these items, it will reward you in turn. Our Cloudog species was created by the serpent, and it appears that it has created more life from the clouds:

As you may note, these creatures have a breeding cool-down of one day. This means that you may attempt to breed them, if you are skilled in animal husbandry, or you can continue to offer the serpent creatures in exchange for its creations. You may find that the serpent is more rewarding, if you are seeking out a rarer animal. When the serpent leaves on March 1st, these creatures will become infertile, and will not be able to breed.

But fear not, as the Guardian Angels will be working to collect rare and super rare creatures to offer at the Gala Ball. Nonetheless, if you happen to include 5,000 FC with your animal offering, the serpent may regard which species you prefer.

The serpent is giving away weapons and armor (and a helm) that are far stronger than most we have created... and much more sturdy. Perhaps one day the serpent will share its techniques for durable construction with our blacksmiths... hm...

1671-serpents-feather.png

This is the Serpent's Feather, and you can obtain it by trading in weapons or armor to the serpent. This is the currency of the Gala Ball. If you wish to purchase anything from the Gala, then you should collect these. Hm... I do believe you may want to make sure you collect fifty of these beautiful feathers before the Gala opens... but that is your choice, of course.

That strange fellow who creates all the plushes has been hard at work designing ones for our illustrious festival... now, you may not find you are able to get your paws on these until the Gala opens. However, you can gaze upon them right now and begin your plans for collection.

1687-gala-suit.png1686-gala-dress.png

Speaking of the Gala, you are aware it opens on February 21st at 12:00 PM, yes? I expect you will be getting yourself ready for that... place yourself in a nice suit or dress, and you will look your best. Perhaps you can earn yourself a VIP ticket to the Gala? Do be sure to bring plenty of feathers, as there will be many fashionable objects available at the Gala for your perusal and purchase: plushes, furniture, vistas, rare and super rare creatures... perhaps other things, as we hosts see fit.

162-17.png162-25.png

It appears that the Skunk and Dutch Angel Dragon species have found their wings in the Fairy Costume... or an extra pair of wings, depending on who you're talking to.

163-21.png163-25.png

The Snake and Dutch Angel Dragon species have learned to smile down upon us from the stars, and can now wear the Galaxy Costume.

161-25.png161-13.png

The Dutch Angel Dragon and Bear species have joined our ranks in the army, and can now wear the Angelic Costume.

Now, if you will excuse me... I am a bit preoccupied with a promise I made earlier... *she searches for a note that she had written, but frustratedly cannot find it* ...oh dear. Well, this may not end well...

    • Goku-san
i've been wondering the same thing myself, actually. :\

    • If they're going to limited it to one village, it should be the one the fest is centered on. Why is TEP the village you have to get the item from when the fest is based on QP? It doesn't make sense.

    • Quagthistle You can find one of the spoiler threads to help you out with the puzzle, the hints are actually in the News post and from there you work each stage.
And from what I'm looking at, there's at least 4 free services right now, like offering to grow the plants or give you one for free or make the salves for free, I'm not seeing anything attached to them. I don't know what you mean by 'attacked by mods' and flaming. From what I've seen, the mods have been doing their job and getting rid of bullies/scammers, I've noticed a lot less vocal brats lately and then the rumor mill points out that 'oh that user was banned' and such. I don't see them defending bullies but taking them out.

It's a mystery, if they explained it that would defeat the purpose. It was probably supposed to be solved little by little with hints here and there (when you figure out hte first hint it leads you to the next ones quite easily actually), but the mystery was finished too fast and people spreaded false info.

I think the only thing you need from TEP are hot chocolate packets (just 1 actually) and the floating bulb plant. oh and warming salve for the plant.

Goku-san perhaps teamwork wasn't the right word. But more of, community effort on the other villagers to interact with that particular village? Idk if I'm explaining it right and i'm probably not, more of it promotes people to interact with each other more instead of ignoring and such.

I'm sure the next events will also probably be centered at one village or whatever to make it fair (compared to this one, if that makes sense).

Or they might just stick to the snow fest where everyone can get it.

    • Tom_Suke Thanks for the info. Still, how am I supposed to visit Ana or even *see* the puzzle? There's no link to a start page or anything...

As for "free" services"... yeah, they are usually *very* expensive and exploitative here on Furvilla, and any attempt to find honest people usually gets you flamed and then attacked by mods. This I learned the hard way during the last event. I stay away from FurVilla's utterly toxic forums whenever possible. The mods seem to make it a policy to defend bullies and punish or silence the bullied, something I have little interest in being part of.

That said, if there truly are honest people offering "free" help, good on them. Since I couldn't find any link to the puzzle's start, however, and I am *not* moving villages, it's probably not something I'll particpate in. They simply didn't explain anything (which is probably why there's so much misinformation floating around), and it sounds like I'd have to bum off of someone to complete it, anyway, which I prefer not to do in such a largely caustic community (though not everyone behaves badly, there are too many who do to trust that it would be a positive experience).

Nevertheless, it was nice of you to try to help, and I appreciate it. :)

    • How is making it where only one village can complete the quest is encouraging teamwork? If it was required where one item was needed from each village then I could see where teamwork would actually work since then it would mean having to get items from every village.

But restricting it to one village (not even the one the fest is based on!) isn't really much of a teamwork effort since they get all of the benefits unless someone is nice enough to share with those not in their village.

Otherwise, prepare to spend an arm and a leg in the user shops for the item.

    • Quagthistle I think you have some facts mixed up homie.

Ana is Quetzal's mayor, the one in the event image with the armor. The TEP is a partial truth--you don't need to be in the village at all but you need something from the village (I don't want to spoil it) and people are offering those services for free if you don't want to move to TEP. every step you take there is a hint to tell you what to do, so while the event does circle around needing TEP help, its not that you have to move there or can only solve it if you're in TEP. I hope that clears that up.

    • Everyone is so ungrateful this was such a cleverly written mystery story, like its so hella cute and creative and everyone just wants to shit on it and not help each other out when so many TEP users are offering free services but no, people just want to bitch about how 'difficult' this event is. It's not difficult, but its not easy. If it was easy you'd have like 20 of everything and it wouldn't be fair at all.

    • My opinion of the event is mixed (an improvement over last time in some respects, much worse in others). AH is my skill of choice, so seeing a MUCH NEEDED sink for Animals is great (even if it is, sadly, only temporary). Shields and other equiptment having a sink is nice, too. And the fact that you have a chance at higher rarity pets from the start is *very* nice, since breeding them in such a short time is effectively impossible.

As for the "puzzle", I have to say, I'm not a fan of how it was implemented for several reasons. First, there was no clearly posted clue, except to see "Ana", whoever that is. There's no link on the news post and no event page that I can find. Second, I've heard form others that the puzzle can only be completed by TEP villages. That's just plain unfair! It does *nothing* to encourage teamwork because people aren't going to give away something they can sell, in most cases, and those from every other village shouldn't have to bum off of the fifth village to complete the puzzle. That's a TERRIBLE idea! (And yes, I'd say the same even if it was my village that happened to be favored.) Forcing people to buy from another village to complete an event is simply a ridiculous idea. I have no idea what the Dragon Eggs do, but I doubt I'll find out because I'm not spending a fortune to complete a "puzzle" that was purposefully made so only one village could make the needed item to complete it.

So, in short, AH and Blacksmithing sinks? Awesome! "Puzzle" that only one village can comeplte? Not cool. At all.

    • Side note, if the serpent accepted the weapons you could buy from the shops, you'd have an infinite stock to give it, and that's not fair at all.

    • It's also the FIRST DAY.
