Career Change Times

Greetings villagers, we have changed the Career Change cooldown to two hours. This means you can now switch your villager's career every two hours, specifically at :00 on even-numbered hours. If you don't know how to change your career, please navigate to your villager's profile and click on Careers (View All).
Also, please follow us on Twitter - we tweet small updates to the game there, especially QOL changes!

Luckily illnesses don't stack, they just replace each other
But the problem is..this is also what they need to test.
They need to test what happens once we've got nothing but 100% doctors. You can't quickly change the system when we havn't even had a chance to test it yet, because we are all still starting off.
Heck I wonder similar about the fighting system..though I'm pretty sure on somet hings about it still.

yes this is the beta and that's why they're working on making diseases less punishing
i understand where you're coming from, you want to enjoy this site as a social platform rather than trying to control the market, and i'm sure there's many others that also want to simply enjoy it as a casual game too
this is why the disease system is problematic for a (what i'm assuming) large portion of the game's audience, and for the current state of the game
definitely when doctors become more rewarding and less demanding (higher potencies, less time to make cures, etc) the price will lower, it's only a matter of time in that department
Disease commonalities and failure rates are much too high. It puts a damper on our experience when we cant even do anything.

Just the way it works..I've a few times cheered when a character gained a disease I could easily get a good cure to...because it got rid of one that I couldn't find a cure for.
idk why that double posted, stupid lagg
There seems to be a mania going on for Venus Fly Traps and Angry Root, they're being sold higher than their recommended price; while the rarer ingredients are going for closer to their base price. I take it this is down to potions and cures requiring these two ingredients in such high quantities, the rarer ingredients just aren't as needed in as high a quantity.
Perhaps it's worth reducing the number of common ingredients in exchange for slightly higher quantities of the rarer ones in potions and such? It would make them more desirable over high quantities of the common ingredients.
Actually I've had a thought and a suggestion for the doctor system that I think would help.
First, the reason for this thought. Why do we have 20 different kinds of each cure, when the moment someone gets 100% ability that person will never see any of the other cures again? Not only is there not a reason to make them..it's impossible to make the other percentages.
My suggestion.
How about skill with medicine, instead of raising the chance the cure will work, instead alters how long it takes to make the medicine? With 100% being the current time on all medicines and evening out so say...5% takes 4X as long? Or whatever would allow decent/easy time changes for the medicines.
okay it happened again, i just got seasickness from last hours exploring and now ehen explored again got neptunes disease, how many diseases can we catch a day, and yeah it got overwritten, neptunes has medicine i havent done yet thou so ill wait till tomorrow to get it cured

Honestly the game feels different to different people. Honestly I don't feel like getting the most FC ever would be _the_ goal in this game. But I know others disagree. I'm more interested in having fun, talking, helping people, seeing bigger goals and heights with my chars, etc.
The thing is, we are beta testing and need to discuss issues and such. The issue right now with medicine is that people are trying to corner the market..and this is making medicine artificially higher than normal. And anyone who has issues getting money..well...they won't be able to really buy anything will they? And now they are stuck at half efficiency and it's just going to frustrate them more because they need to make more money while under poor conditions.
However once we have enough doctors with 100% I feel this issue will probably go away.
