Update on Lion Warrior Costume

Posted by Owner-Quinn on 22 Jul 2019, 3:52 pm

Hello!

Quinn here.

As a heart to heart from myself and all of you, I want to sincerely say that I love this game and its community. Ultimately Furvilla is a game and as such it needs to be fun and fulfilling for its players. It also needs to sustain itself. As an owner, it is my responsibility to try to do what is best for the game, even if mistakes are inevitable.

With regards to the Lion Warrior Costume, the reaction has been strong enough that it would be unfair to ignore.

For those who have been around long enough to have witnessed its conception, the idea of the Lion Warrior Costume initially began as a custom order. However, it quickly came under the full financial responsibility and creative control of Furvilla and its staff. Furvilla paid for the artwork and made final decisions on implementation. ie, the Lion Warrior Costume and its associated items are an original Furvilla IP, as much as the gembound species.

While I was admittedly surprised by the force of reaction to the announced FD Emporium exclusivity of the Lion Gem, I completely understand the opinion that an item that gives an advantage, no matter how small, should not require an item that is an FD exclusive. Also, we don’t want to exclude people that have accumulated the other ingredients via gameplay expecting to eventually craft the full costume. I understand this and can relate.

Thus, we have decided to move forward with making the Lion Gem also craftable with reagents obtainable from gameplay. These will all be ingredients related to the Clawtooth theme, available via the Spirit Lions battlegrounds as well as associated explore events. We'll be actively assessing the drop rates for the various reagents needed.

Please be on the lookout for its recipe alongside the other related recipes in The Fair Exchange.

Furthermore, after evaluating relative values on the site, we have decreased the price of the Lion Gem from 750FD to 250FD. You do not need to purchase this gem if you wish to craft it instead. Those who purchased Lion Gems at the original price have been refunded the difference.

To summarize, there are two versions of the Lion Warrior Costume:
- The standard is on par with all other costumes in terms of difficulty to craft and has warrior and explorer buffs.
- The "blessed" version is more difficult to craft and effectively amounts to an aesthetic upgrade by unlocking the spirit lion, plus giving the equivalent of two warrior buffs.

Thank you all for playing. I don’t pretend to know what’s always best, but I am grateful for this opportunity to keep this game and community going.

- Quinn

    • This is much better.
The pay to win bit was really off, even if it wasnt exactly pay to win.
FV needs to adress FDE items and fix the careers.next
Who knows, FV might be able to be able to return to what it was like.

At least it seems like they are listening this time...

The conern here is that, yes, if FV likes your idea a lot they might just yoink it for their own without asking first.
      Sketchy at best...
Hopefully its not the case and it is because Jzanky is affiliated in some way with the owners.

    • Varinis I’m not sure if I’m fully up to date but I believe Jzanky is at least within collaboration with the site owners, if not one of them. My assumption is that he was asked first if not, and not that they just ran off with the idea. Unless I completely missed something mentioned earlier? If they really did just take it though then that’s um. But I don’t think that’s quite what happened.

    • I have my doubts that this will benefit the site like the site needs it to benefit it. But I'm glad you're optimistic Jzanky

    • Many thanks to the admins, mods, and kiwi for making this happen. I just wanted to see Lance-C-Bones have to be a lion. It was looking like it would have never happened under prior ownership. I regret getting impatient, and I’m happy I got my lions. I’m sorry if it caused you guys stress, and I know it was more trouble than it was worth. But I hope this benefits the site as much as it does me. Your turn, Lance. :)

    • I won't be able to get it either way XD
I'm having a real tough time progressing in this game xD

    • Thank you for this update! I was a bit worried that getting either of the Lion costumes would be way harder than it should (the drop rates for materials are still not great tbh) but now that things are getting adjusted to make it easier for everyone, it makes me less worried. So thank you again!

    • I do appreciate the change but

I must ask, why does the costume still use Jzanky's custom lion equips in the art and to make one? Would seem more logical that it would not use them at all if he didn't pay for the costume?...

And I know for a fact the equips are his items, he got 150% ones and everything...It seems very weird to still use them????

    • crystallizing They didn't actually say in this lovely news post. So who knows. I'm sure Jzanky will say somewhere he is totally fine with it, but this entire news post screams that they just took the idea from him and he no longer has any say in it.

I'm still curious why so many of Quinn's pop up events include him throwing Jzanky's Zebra leg at people though. Did Quinn steal that from Jzanky too? We may never know.

    • Varinis lmao wait. So why is it a good idea to tell the entire site that they took it as their own? Did Jzanky willing allowed it and there's proof of it or something? If Jzanky allowed then I guess its fine?

    • also also why is FV's stuff still using Jzanky's custom items to make for the "Blessed Lion Costume"
