Seeking Moderators
Posted by Mat on 2 Jul 2016, 9:15 pm
Greetings, villagers! As you may have noticed we received a massive influx of players over the last day. This is far more than our little team of moderators can handle, so we're looking to expand our moderator team, and welcome some new Player Safety members! If you are interested in applying for a moderator position, please send a message to [email protected] with the following: your Furvilla username, your age, your location and time zone, your prior moderation experience, and why you'd like to be a moderator on Furvilla. Please note that we can only accept applications from players aged eighteen or older.
Also, we have a message to share from MOD-Deinmaar, the Head of Community, who would like to address some issues with our current moderators' actions:
The moderators owe the entire Furvilla Community a massive apology. The deletion of many, many threads that never actually violated the Terms of Service wasn't right of us, and we are working to rectify and retrain our team before we open the forums and chats again to make sure this is never an issue again. Miscommunication is no excuse, and we gravely apologize for the trauma this has caused many users who did absolutely nothing wrong. We sincerely hope you enjoy the rest of the site while we work diligently to right our wrongs.
Furvilla has received a much higher amount of registrations than we were prepared for and we're working to ensure our Forums and Chatrooms are welcoming to all members. Please bear with us while we hire additional help! In the meantime, if you haven't gotten a chance, please be sure to read the Newbie Guide and continue your enjoyment of the game.
Have a lovely night!
I'd apply, but I assume I'm not applicable. :/
Really wish I could apply to be mod, but I'm not 18. :l Oh well
also you guys should work on adding a search function to the forums, since there was an issue with duplicate threads, but no way for users to know since these threads were often buried so quickly by other threads popping up so more and more new ones were made.
me and my boyfriend will apply to help you guys out :)
For those asking about if being a mod is paid or unpaid it says in the newbie guide it is a volunteer position.

Thank you guys for working so hard on the issue! I wasn't here for whatever happened, but I know you guys meant well for whatever happened.
Also I really hope that before the forums & chat are re-enabled, that they're put onto a different server first. The game runs so fantastically fast with them closed! So having them on different server box would probably help loads with the game response time!
glad to see this being resolved in (what i believe is) the right way. the site hasn't even been open for 48 hours yet; this is the time to be working out kinks both in programming and in forum moderation. and while i'm sad that the forums are down, the site is almost 100% faster! there's always a silver lining.
thanks for clearing things up, mods.
thank you for deciding to add more mods! this should help both the staff and userbase quite a bit i think.
In my opinion, if the moderators say not to post something and the community spams posts with it anyway, the community is at fault for the way they handled the issue. People should have directly contacted the site owners, not tried to take over the site with a problem that could easily have been resolved in a more mature manner. It is not as if this is the only site which can be used to discuss issues like what was being spammed in the forums. The community of people who participated in this event and in disrespecting the moderators owe the moderators and the site an apology as well. We are here to have fun and enjoy the website, not to demand things in an unacceptable and immature manner. With that said, I am glad that this has been resolved, and I hope that in the future if people continue to spam the forums after being told not to, they will be warned or banned for it. If the issue being discussed is not against the rules, then it is fine to talk directly to staff to resolve the issue, but the way in which this was resolved is unsatisfactory in the way the userbase handled it. We need to be mature about this.
Thanks a bunch for the quick announcement and apology! I doubt being a mod is at all easy, so I appreciate the effort you guys are putting into it. Hope things go well.
