Seeking Moderators
Posted by Mat on 2 Jul 2016, 9:15 pm
Greetings, villagers! As you may have noticed we received a massive influx of players over the last day. This is far more than our little team of moderators can handle, so we're looking to expand our moderator team, and welcome some new Player Safety members! If you are interested in applying for a moderator position, please send a message to [email protected] with the following: your Furvilla username, your age, your location and time zone, your prior moderation experience, and why you'd like to be a moderator on Furvilla. Please note that we can only accept applications from players aged eighteen or older.
Also, we have a message to share from MOD-Deinmaar, the Head of Community, who would like to address some issues with our current moderators' actions:
The moderators owe the entire Furvilla Community a massive apology. The deletion of many, many threads that never actually violated the Terms of Service wasn't right of us, and we are working to rectify and retrain our team before we open the forums and chats again to make sure this is never an issue again. Miscommunication is no excuse, and we gravely apologize for the trauma this has caused many users who did absolutely nothing wrong. We sincerely hope you enjoy the rest of the site while we work diligently to right our wrongs.
Furvilla has received a much higher amount of registrations than we were prepared for and we're working to ensure our Forums and Chatrooms are welcoming to all members. Please bear with us while we hire additional help! In the meantime, if you haven't gotten a chance, please be sure to read the Newbie Guide and continue your enjoyment of the game.
Have a lovely night!
Thank you so much for clearing this up! I have high hopes that you'll find the best of mods to assist with the community.
Good luck to everyone applying for Moderators!
Im glad to see that the team is working and all, keep up the good work :)
aw, i'm super glad you guys did this.
i really want to see this site grow, so thank you for growing w/it by admitting your mistakes! it takes a lot, and means a lot to everyone.
good luck to anyone applying for the position!
good luck to everyone applying for moderators! <3
i must admit that i agree with some others on the choice the team made with shutting down chat being an overreaction, while i really appreciate the apology. chat has been one of the only source, as far as i know, of player to player interaction. i, along with many others, hope that chat will be reintroduced into the game, and are waiting patiently for it to be added to back.
So glad to see this, good luck to all those applying for Mod positions!
Good luck to all those that Apply!
Also kudos to the starting team for recognizing problems that have occurred and taking the proper steps to ensure a quality community <3
Props to the mods for apologizing for the wrong they made, but I do feel that shutting down what is basically the most crucial part of the website is a bit of an overreaction. You say 'enjoy the rest of the website' but honestly, without being able to widely communicate with other members and exchange goods and ideas with them, that's pretty much impossible. I managed to spend 10+ hours on this website yesterday, and now only being here for about 20 minutes today, I'm out of things to do. I don't know how staff can say they "weren't prepared" to have this many members after advertising to a massive community somewhere like Tumblr for several years..
I also think that simply adding more moderators isn't going to solve the issue. The issue is that they're advertising to furries, a demographic largely made up of adults and rooted in adult content, and didn't add a section of the forum for 18+ users. The issue is that the moderators think silencing entire groups of people is a better solution than putting in real work and catching problem users as they arise. More moderators with terrible values and work ethic isn't going to stop the kind of content the majority of their users want to post, pg13 subjects or otherwise.
I understand the site is new and I shouldn't be too critical, but even now, this isn't really a great solution..
Oh that's why the forum is down, tbh I starting to see a lot of drama and weird topics coming up so glad you guys are doing something about it. Hope you get a good mod team^^
This was eventual to happen. A lot of Grey area topics and common sense are hard to sometimes find common ground together. This was an appropriate move on the mods part.
Seeing a lot of people asking when the forums will be up. It'll take some time to find some mods; especially experienced mods. So please due take this time to learn more about the game and find out what you can do to better your Villager and town
