Seeking Moderators
Posted by Mat on 2 Jul 2016, 9:15 pm
Greetings, villagers! As you may have noticed we received a massive influx of players over the last day. This is far more than our little team of moderators can handle, so we're looking to expand our moderator team, and welcome some new Player Safety members! If you are interested in applying for a moderator position, please send a message to [email protected] with the following: your Furvilla username, your age, your location and time zone, your prior moderation experience, and why you'd like to be a moderator on Furvilla. Please note that we can only accept applications from players aged eighteen or older.
Also, we have a message to share from MOD-Deinmaar, the Head of Community, who would like to address some issues with our current moderators' actions:
The moderators owe the entire Furvilla Community a massive apology. The deletion of many, many threads that never actually violated the Terms of Service wasn't right of us, and we are working to rectify and retrain our team before we open the forums and chats again to make sure this is never an issue again. Miscommunication is no excuse, and we gravely apologize for the trauma this has caused many users who did absolutely nothing wrong. We sincerely hope you enjoy the rest of the site while we work diligently to right our wrongs.
Furvilla has received a much higher amount of registrations than we were prepared for and we're working to ensure our Forums and Chatrooms are welcoming to all members. Please bear with us while we hire additional help! In the meantime, if you haven't gotten a chance, please be sure to read the Newbie Guide and continue your enjoyment of the game.
Have a lovely night!
two Pretty much all raw materials needed for crafting can be found by exploring. Thus it's helpful to have an Explorer to gather materials that a Crafter can then use - two villagers working in tandem!
@ crafters! where do you find the materials you could use to craft items?
@MOD-Deinmaar Fortunately, I was keeping track (I take payment upfront so I had the transfer records) but I know others don't and there are many younger, less experienced artists here who don't know better as they're not actual professional artists or anything. I'm more just trying to draw attention to this issue and hopefully get a possible solution on the radar of the staff. Either way, thanks for responding!

Well, I'm hoping they won't be down for very long, but I also would hope that artists would be keeping track of who commissioned them outside of the forums. As a fellow artist, I know I do when I take commissions. I will, however, speak to my Admin and see if Read-Only is a possibility, and if it's something the programmers have readily available. I understand the frustration, but we had to do something quick before things got really out of hand. While we continue clean up of the forums, as I said, I will certainly ask about the possibility of turning it to Read-Only.
@MOD-Deinmaar Okies that makes sense. What about the rest of it though? "Read something about a Beginners Boon which allows your villager to continue working as long as they're only two weeks old or sommat (exploration seems to be the only one with this warning afaik) so does that mean that once the time is up they won't be able to work while sick AT ALL or?" (Sorry you're so busy! i don't mean to add to the burden :P)
@MOD-Deinmaar I've had a few commissioners from art sales forums express concern about this to me so I'm honestly really worried: what are people who commissioned art and/or panties supposed to do? If all the records are on the forums then how can commissioners finish their commissions or even know who commissioned them to get in touch? Is it possible to reopen the forums in read only mode at least? There were IRL money sales going on in some of the forums so I'd imagine some people are seriously frustrated and feeling really screwed over right now.

I can see how illness are OP right now. Programmers have informed me as thus:
"We're waiting a few days to see how the economy settles and what the price of medicines ends up at after herbalists + doctors're all trained up.
The main reason we wanted to make illnesses common is so herbalists + doctors would be kept busy which is why we're aiming more for common illnesses + lots of medicines, but not so much that the market gets oversaturated."
Any ETA on getting communications back up? Playing an MMO is kind of difficult without being able to talk to other people xD
@weavhile
Unfortunately, we can't be absolutely certain. Until I bring on and train more moderators, it's not wise to open them up again. I'm hoping for it to be as soon as we possibly can. We just can't handle everything we need to on the forums with the size of our Moderator staff. We definitely thank you for your patience though!
i know you can get the one free heal a day but...do villagers every kinda recover on their own? Read something about a Beginners Boon which allows your villager to continue working as long as they're only two weeks old or sommat (exploration seems to be the only one with this warning afaik) so does that mean that once the time is up they won't be able to work while sick AT ALL or? Sickness is so op.
