I come bearing good news! While it is unfortunate that the site’s chat feature has been less than functional for a while now, we’ve come up with a solution, something to try out while we wait for repairs (which could in all honesty take quite a while longer).

Below you will find a link to join the Official Furvilla Discord! This new chat will serve as our “on site” chat for the foreseeable future and should be treated as if you are chatting on Furvilla itself. All of the normal Furvilla site rules will apply, and with them, the normal warnings and infractions. So please be mindful to read the rules when you enter and don’t be afraid to say hello and chat with the Staff, we’re all hoping to have a nice, active site chat again!

JOIN HERE!!!

And please be advised that Furvilla will have about an hour of downtime on the 13th for some routine database work!

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

    • what should we never forget im so confused :(

    • How am I supposed to get in
I’m so confused, I’ve tried !password but that doesn’t work? What else do I try?

    • Discord is really pretty terrible, I'd rather have an official IRC server to be honest.

    • @Morichinatsu The onsite chat is onsite, of course I know it would be monitored by staff. I already stated I never used it anyway. My issue isn't that there's an official discord. Please read my previous comment -" Having a discord server isn't a bad idea, but having one to replace a broken feature is pretty disheartening."

The site owner has other websites that they're dedicating resources to instead of this one, and after seeing what they did to their first site it's really disappointing to watch the same cycle. I know code isn't just a click of a button. I'm actually a coder myself. My issue isn't with the coder, my issue is with the site owner not hiring other coders to help out. They have other sites they're currently building even though those aren't generating revenue while this one is.

Also, please don't mistaken this as me being upset. I honestly don't care about what happens to this place. It was just funny to see a cycle continue.

    • Malibu The onsite chat would be monitored by staff and get you infractions just like the Discord would, so I'm a bit confused why you're complaining that they haven't fixed the onsite chat but also complaining about there being an official Discord at the same time. Both are chats that would get you infractions for breaking the rules. One is just more easily done at the current time from the sounds of it, so it's what they opted for in the meantime so the coder can focus on more important stuff? If you're not interested in either, shouldn't you be happy that they opted for a chat that can be done without the coder's time?

And I'm not sure what there being one coder has anything to do with how seriously the owner takes FV. The owner is not the coder, and I'm not sure about the last time you looked at the bug reports board but there's over 20 pages of threads there and who knows how many emails, filed reports, and plans either. Code isn't just a click of a button and voila, everything you want and need is there and absolutely perfect. And the latest coder has been getting things done, maybe you didn't notice how quickly bugs during the Oceandome event were fixed, or that this very news post even says that the site will be going down for database work in just a few days.

    • Christovski One of my points was that the other discords won’t get you infractions. It being moderated by the Furvilla staff is exactly the reason I plan to avoid it. I don’t socialize on this site because I already don’t feel comfortably interacting with this community because of its sensitivity. The other Furvilla discords are already boring enough as it is because of the FV userbase, so this is even less appealing imo.

I never used the chat anyway so it doesn't affect me. Having a discord server isn't a bad idea, but having one to replace a broken feature is pretty disheartening. If they want to phase out the chat, then just remove it all together.

There only being one coder has been an excuse for a lot of things sitting around, and it just goes to show how seriously the site owner takes this place.
